CBS DVD strikes oil with The Official Third Season of The Beverly Hillbillies! Jed, Jethro, Elly May, and Granny have come back for more adventures of everybody’s favorite hillbillies living the good life in Beverly Hills while avoiding the luxuries and pleasures associated with the big city. The five disc DVD set contains all 34 episodes from the third season as well as a few nice bonus features.

The Beverly Hillbillies has seen many DVD releases in the past, but this is one of the very few “official” releases of the series, rather than the public domain sets put out by other companies. This set has even more to offer, however. All of the episodes of the series released on public domain DVD have been from the first two seasons, thus this set is the first authorized set to be released that only contains episodes that have not already been released on DVD! Well how ‘bout that? As Jethro would say, “hot dog!”

Nice review, the plain packaging doesn't bother me I'm just happy the 3rd season will be on DVD now.

I never bought the Paramount second season because I have the first 2 MPI releases. Question: Are the episodes unedited and good quality? I was very happy with MPI's quality. I guess I'll pick up season 2 when I buy season 3.

Yes, they're unedited. You can also choose to see the eps with sponsor openings too. I love my set.

Thats good to know! It Looks like The Beverly Hillbillies fans are being treated right! I was concerned because of horror stories I heard of other Paramount sets like Happy Days, Lavern and Shirley and The Odd Couple. Its weird how some shows get top-notch releases with no butchering and plenty of extras and others don't!

I went to buy Season 3 at Best Buy today (Feb. 17), it never arrived. A lady looked it up and it wasn't in stock in any of the area stores. (Strange!) I guess I'll order it online.

markway895 I had the very same experience. Best Buy stores didn't have it in stock anywhere. I came home frustrated and just had it overnighted from amazon, got it to day and am just about to "sit a spell" with the Clampetts.
