In wake of the popular trend of making video games based off of comic book inspired films, such as Batman Begins, The Punisher, Wolverine's Revenge.... there were plans to make a video game based off of The Dark Knight for the PS3.

However, The Dark Knight was canceled early on in production. No official explanation was given but it is pretty much understood that the reason was because the game was not ready yet to coincide with the DVD release of the film.

They are now focusing on a new Batman video game Batman: Arkham Asylum which is due to come out in the near future.

Wow, those look great. Looks like they were going for a realistic cityscape like the GTA series.

That's exactly what they were going for.
It was going to be a "sandbox"; free roaming game.

Bummer! Seems like such a waste. Just from an artistic point of view they're beautiful!
