Cyrus Apologises For 'Goofy Face' Photos

Miley Cyrus has broken her silence over controversial photos posted online in which she appears to poke fun at Asians - insisting she meant no harm by making "goofy faces". The Hannah Montana star came under fire earlier this week (begs02Feb09) after snapshots of her and a group of male pals pulling their eyes to mock Asians - while one Asian-American sits among them - surfaced on the Internet.
The images enraged the Asian-American community, prompting Cyrus to apologise in a message posted on her official fansite.
However, she is adamant the "fun" snaps have been taken out of context - and is blaming the media for criticising her every move.
She writes, "I've also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I'm sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong (sic) and out of context!
"In No way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of (sic) been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new 'Bad Girl'!"
