Picked up my copy today on the way home from work!

...and that much closer to having the complete series ;)

I figure they have to release Season 8...after all, why release 7/8 of a series?

...and you know they want to be able to package a Complete Series boxset.

My collection is growing......had to move all six seasons of Hogan's Heroes to another shelf to fit another season of Bewitched

...better go shopping for some longer shelves! :D

They are eventually going to release a complete series set. Erin Murphy mentioned on one of her blogs that she is very involved with the extras of this set. I don't know when it's going to be released...sometime this year, probably.

I bought mine on the way home from work yesterday too. Best Buy had it for $29.99, which is cheap for them. This season is great! I mean I definitely prefer the first Darrin, Dick York, but the story lines of this season are still good and funny. Plus, to me this is the last season that Liz looked great. Her hair and clothes are very nice in season 7. But I don't like the story lines nor Liz's hair and clothes in season 8 so I'm stopping here and not going to buy season 8. I'm very pleased to have seven seasons of Bewitched with the first one in black and white! :D

I got it today at Best Buy also for $30 which is cheap for them.

Havent watched it yet, but looking forward to it.

The cover looks nice for obvious reasons :D

Mickey, I have a feeling you'd buy a DVD of Liz just reading the phone book (if one exsisted). :D

I got my copy today. I watched a couple episodes out of order. I'm not really in a "Bewitched" mood today, but I still wanted to watch an episode. Dick Sargent seems to be much more comfortable in the role of Darrin.

I'm glad to buy seasons 6-7-8, but the heart of the show is still the first few seasons, carrying over to the 5th season simply for having Dick York in it. But with that said, the Sargent era had some great moments in it too. Though I haven't watched this show on TV (except for the B&W episodes on N@N). So this is all new to me. I don't think I'll like the last much, but I'll still buy it.

The show feels a little empty without York there.

Very surprising! Perhaps Target will carry season 7! I got mine at Best Buy. Fry's Electronics will also carry it. It's a very good season!:D

I've gotten all my Bewitched sets at Target, so I think it would be worth a look there.

Wal-Mart's DVD selection bites these days, anyway. So it's not surprising that they wouldn't carry Bewitched.

I wasn't going to buy season 6 or 7, not because of Dick Sargent but because with these later seasons they were often rehashing plots from previous episodes. The show was getting stale already with the 5th season. But the DVD's are so well done with all uncut episodes which make it hard to resist. I have seasons 1 thru 4, probably will pass on season 5 but likely I will order #6 and #7 to add a couple of the Dick Sargent seasons to the collection.

Lee, I totally agree with you that season 5 was not as good as 1 - 4. However, I did buy season 5 mainly because of Dick York. I also purchased seasons 6 and just recently 7. I prefer Dick York, but both season 6 and 7 still have some very good episodes and some of them aren't rehashes of old ones. Plus to me, Liz still looks very good in seasons 6 and 7. I didn't like her hair or clothes in season 8 plus the story lines were pretty bad in season 8 so I'm not going to buy it. But seasons 6 and 7 still offer a lot of guest stars and good plots. You should get them ;)

One episode I enjoy from season five is the one about the willow tree- Weep No More My Willow. I watched the episode recently on you tube. There are many Bewitched episodes on you tube. But overall I think the 5th season is mostly flat, I probably won't buy that one but will likely place an order soon for #6 and #7.

I got my copy of season 7 from Amazon.ca (I buy all of my DVD's from there). The Wal-Mart in my area had some copies of season 7 for $38.83 Canadian dollars.

Season 7 had a lot of good episodes in my opinion - 'Mixed Doubles', 'Mary The Good Fairy', 'The Good Fairy Strikes Again', 'Sisters At Heart' and the Salem episodes. Season 8 had the England episodes, which were good.

Wal-Mart's DVD section is truly pathetic. I checked there first---didn't know they wouldn't be carrying it----but was really shocked at how many other things they didn't have as well. Went over to Target and found it right away----they also had a great selection of things to browse through----yet another department in which Wal-Mart gets a big fat "F".

I also have to agree that these later seasons don't measure up to the earlier ones----the show was just running out of steam. Seasons 6 and 7 are ok---I'm fully expecting Season 8 to be really weak, but still looking forward to having the whole series.

I read on the HarpiesBizarre website that the ratings took a real dip when Dick York left. I'm not at all surprised......don't misunderstand..I don't think it was Dick Sargent's fault per se-----York was a hard act to follow and he had set the tone...Sargent had to try to fill his shoes and had to try to sell his own portrayal, which couldn't be as animated and vivacious as York's. Add to that the fact that York and Liz had great chemistry--he later admitted having had enough of a little crush on Liz to make Darrin's love for Sam believable. Sargent, as we all know, was gay------"not that there's anything wrong with that" (as they said on Seinfeld) but it showed---the chemistry wasn't there and their kisses were more amusing and platonic-looking than anything else. Also Sargent's Darrin wasn't able to pull off the anger and sarcasm reactions as well----he seemed more bitter and insulting to Sam's family. By all accounts he was a good guy---and I think he was a good actor, but he had to follow somebody who was way more suited to the part----and that had to suck for him.

One Season 8 ep that I remember from my childhood is the one where Larry keeps getting younger until he's a young boy. I'm looking forward to seeing that one again----but just a little afraid it won't be nearly as good as I thought it was 30-something years ago!

I hear yall and yall make some good arguments, but I like the whole show, and I thought season 5 had some good episodes. Also Dick Sargent is no Dick York but I think he did a good job playing Darren.

One thing I don't care for starting with the 5th season is that they started using "Samantha" a lot in the episode titles. It was like they got lazy or could no longer come up with creative episode titles, so they just went with Samantha's this or Samantha's that. To me, that's a clear indicator the series was beginning to lose steam.

I never really thought of it that way, but you make a good point. Good catch!

well I will break how many times Samantha's ____________ was used in an episode title through the shows run!
Season 1= 1 time
Season 2= 2 times
Season 3= 3 times
Season 4= 3 times
Season 5= 14 times
Season 6= 9 times
Season 7= 10 times
Season 8= 6 times
42/254 episodes
It did increase quite a bit especially in Season 5 but i was surprised it was only 42 times

I like that episode, too - especially the pink dress with the roses and leaves Sam wears throughout. I'd love to have a dress just like that.
