View Full Version : TV Host Gary Collins Arrested for DUI Again
Brian Damage 02-01-2009, 06:22 PM Former TV host Gary Collins was arrested Saturday night for DUI, an employee for the Santa Barbara, Calif., County Jail confirms. He has since posted bail and was released. No further details were immediately available.
Back in January 2008, Collins, 70, served four days in a Glendale, Calif., jail for what was his second DUI conviction at the time.
Collins is currently serving four years probation from that case, stemming from an accident in Los Angeles in October 2007, in which Collins was struck by another driver who later died from his injuries. The former Hour Magazine and Home Show host was not found responsible for the other driver's death.
A rep for Collins wasn't immediately available for comment.

Zoneboy 11-03-2010, 10:06 PM Police say actor and TV host Gary Collins is suspected of driving into the back of a woman Tuesday afternoon in Jackson and then leaving the scene before police arrived.
The collision occurred at 4:08 p.m. along I-55 frontage road near Old Canton Road.
Cheryl Hales, 40, of Jackson told police she was at a red light when a white Jeep plowed into the back of her Ford Focus, Jackson police spokeswoman Colendula Green said.
The driver of the jeep then fled the scene, Green said.
Hales and other witnesses were able to get the license plate number and other descriptions that connected the vehicle to 71-year-old Collins, Green said.
On Tuesday, Hales signed an affidavit, which allows police to arrest Collins for leaving the scene of an accident, Green said. As of Wednesday night, Collins had not been arrested.
In January 2009, Collins was arrested in Santa Barbara, Calif. on suspicion of DUI.
Prior to that, Collins pleaded no contest in 2007 to driving under the influence and served a four-day jail sentence in a suburb of Los Angeles. Records also indicate he was convicted of DUI in 2004 in Malibu.
Collins married Mississippi native Mary Ann Mobley of Brandon, an actress and a former Miss Mississippi and former Miss America, in 1967.

TV Knowledge Fan 11-04-2010, 10:33 PM ...45 years ago, Gary was the bright up-and-coming co-star, with Jack Warden, of NBC's "THE WACKIEST SHIP IN THE ARMY" (based on the movie of the same name), which lasted just one season. Before that, Gary was among the "contenders" for his studio's "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" pilot [along with Darren McGavin and Ross Martin!]. When Larry Hagman got the role, Gary got his part in "WACKIEST SHIP". I met Larry at the Chiller Theater Expo in Parsippany, N.J. this past weekend, and, believe it or not, he was nice (and sober). I don't think I'd like to meet Gary.....
