I didn't want to start a thread on each individual board for each show so I thought it will be good to make it one general thread.

These are the movie adapations of many classic shows that I can think of. If you know of any I have failed to mention please add.

Just give a brief statement on if you liked it or it stunk:

1. a) The Brady Bunch Movie (1995)
b) A Very Brady Sequel (1996)

2. Leave it to Beaver (1997)

3. The Little Rascals (1994)

4. The Beverly Hillbillies (1993)

5. Bewitched (2005)

6. The Honeymooners (2005)

7. The Dukes of Hazzard (2005)

8. Starsky & Hutch (2004)

9. a) Charlie's Angels (2000)
b) Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003)

Viewable. Once. But not often.

8. Starsky & Hutch (2004)

OK. Even tho Snoop's HuggyBear was not even close to the Original. But Ben&Owen made it very well.

I love the Wayne's World and Addams Family adaptations, but that's about it. It would be interesting to see what young stars would get cast in a movie update of Night Court.

I loved The Little Rascals movie as a kid. It came out when I was the age of all of the kids in the movie, so that kind of attached me to it as well. It was always a favorite of mine growing up.

For those on the list I would have to say nay, especially Bewitched

The following TV shows (among others) have been remade as theatrical movies, with new casts (films that featured the original cast are not included). Here's how I would rate the ones that I've seen:

"The Addams Family" (good)
"The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle" (good)
"Alvin & the Chipmunks" (fair)
"The Beverly Hillbillies" (poor)
"Bewitched" (haven't seen it)
"The Brady Bunch" (haven't seen it)
"Car 54, Where Are You?" (haven't seen it)
"Charlie's Angels" (fair)
"Dudley Do-Right" (fair)
"Dukes of Hazzard" (haven't seen it)
"Fat Albert" (haven't seen it)
"The Flintstones" (good)
"The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas" (fair)
"George of the Jungle" (good)
"Get Smart" (haven't seen it)
"The Honeymooners" (haven't seen it)
"Inspector Gadget" (good)
"Leave It to Beaver" (fair)
"The Little Rascals" (good)
"The Lone Ranger" (1980; Klinton Spilsbury; poor)
"Lost in Space" (haven't seen it)
"Mister Magoo" (poor)
"Mod Squad" (haven't seen it)
"My Favorite Martian" (poor)
"Scooby-Doo" (good)
"Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed" (fair)
"Sgt. Bilko" (haven't seen it)
"Twilight Zone" (fair)
"Underdog" (poor)

well, of the ones I've seen, I'd say the worst ones were "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" & "THE HONEYMOONERS". They were both puke: :barf:

(I got "THE BEVERLLY HILLBILLIES" on DVD from netflix, and turned it off 20 minutes into it!! I was going to turn it off after 10 minutes when I realized how bad it is but decided to at least wait for Buddy Ebsens cameo, but it was so awful I couldn't even wait that long!!!)

I feel that pretty much all of the movie adaptions of TV shows are horrible, mosty because of bad casting and bad scripts.

Over all adaptations of TV shows are horrible, shows that hollyweed has no ideas. But there are a few I do like Mission Impossible (more of a continuation), the first two Addams Family movies (arguably more of a new outgrowth of the original cartoons by Charles Addams then a TV remake), and Sgt Bilko (it's good because of Steve Martin). The rest are not watchable.

5. Bewitched (2005) - Thumbs down.

(Plays Stewie's voice after kicking the crap out of Will Ferell)

"You suck and you're not funny!"

Stewie from Family Guy summed up just how bad this movie was!

But anyway, here's the others I've seen:

1. a) The Brady Bunch Movie (1995) - actually enjoyed it.

b) A Very Brady Sequel (1996) - not as good as before but worthy of watching some.

3. The Little Rascals (1994) - Thoroughly enjoyed it! I still have the old VHS tape!

4. The Beverly Hillbillies (1993) - Bleeeech! Only good was Buddy Ebsen's cameo as his other famous character in Barnaby Jones.

7. The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) - D to F mediocrity! Why? It was only a field day press to showcase off Jessica Simpsons's outfits and body. The two actors that played Bo and Luke were horrible, plots were very inconsistent (The original Bo and Luke never even visited the hood for one), Burt Reynolds (I like him sometimes in some of his other movies) he definitely was NO Boss Hogg here!

8. Starsky & Hutch (2004) - Liked it, despite the fact that Snopp wasn't exactly the Huggy Bear type.

9. a) Charlie's Angels (2000) - Loved it! Maybe even loved it more than the original TV show itself!

b) Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003) - not as fun, but still worth watching.

Others:
Miami Vice - This wasn't your father's Miami Vice, alright. And it was Ok to mediocre at best.
Mission: Impossible - Hated it mainly b/c of Tom Cruise and the way they had Jim Phelps turn into the bad guy. The 2006 version was the better of the movie versions, though.
Incredible Hulk, The (2003) - When I originally saw it in theatres, the plots were enough to put me to sleep.
(2008 version) - I enjoyed this one a little more than the 2003 adaption.
Dragnet (1987) - more of a parody movie of the show we know than anything.
