Another nice episode where once again Ozzie's imagination goes into overdrive and he has a nightmare about it. I liked how Rick in the end just stated he didn't want a big splashy party--just a nice dinner out with his family. I tend to enjoy those type of outings myself.

I enjoy quiet family dinners for birthdays but the rest of our relatives get insulted when they are not invited so we wind up going out to dinner and then having everyone over for cake and coffee.
I once was invited to a 65th birthday party and the guest of honor walked out when he found out the party was for him. His wife was next to tears and quite embarassed but we all stayed and had the party without him. To this day, he has refused to open his gifts from the event.

In Rick's 21st, I thought it was so sweet that Ozzie was so concerned that Rick would be disapointed with what was in or NOT in the envelope that he had waited 21 years to open that he made sure there was something special in there.
They also mentioned his being able to vote now. Ozzie even asking about his registering to vote. That's probably as political as the show ever got. Aside from when they all tried to get a traffic light installed at a dangerous intersection. lol
I also learned something because I hadn't realized 21 had been the legal voting age.

Yes, the Twenty-sixth Amendment to the US constitution, passed in 1971 changed the voting age for all elections to 18. From a moral position it was only right as you could be drafted and die for your country at 18 but had no say in who was elected to Congress, the only legislative body that has the authority to instigate a draft.

Just watched it again and yes I thought it was nice the way Ozzie Harriet and David put so much special thought into this day for Rick. And the dream sequence spoffing The Millionaire was kinda cute. But it was the ending when they were all seated at the restaurant and everyone in the joint chimed in for "Happy Birthday". A very charming and poignant ep indeed. I'm grateful to SHOUT! since I didn't have it until this 2nd 24 ep release.

I didn't have that episode either. Everytime Shout comes out with a new set, or Mill Creek with their set, even if I have 90% of the episodes already I am greatful for the 1, 2, or 3 new episodes I can add to my collection. I get so excited just to see one new episode!

Love discovering new episodes too--it's like somewhere Ozzie and family are still making them and we are allowed sneak peeks every once in awhile :D

And I've had very good luck with Shout! Half of the eps on their sets have been new ones for me!
