Wow--a nice change to see David being a manipulative cad in order to score a date with a pretty girl, rather than risk losing her to Ricky.

Dave carried a great many scenes quite well throughout the series run.

I'm like Rich, in saying, often times, I find David to be my favorite Nelson!

I also like Dave's performance in "Peyton Place".

I watched it mainly to see Dave, but it is worth a look on its own.

Well, I really do like Dave the best followed very closely by Rick, but, I must say, this is the only ep I've ever seen where Dave was kind of sleezy - tricking Rick like that. But when it comes to scoring with a pretty gal, NO ONE can outfox Rick. What a slick move Rick made at the end! You go Rick; I just loved it! Guess David learned that if love is war, Rick's a 4 star general! And Dave's at best a Lt.

I enjoyed seeing Dave in Cry Baby (a John Waters film - which is THE LAST PLACE I thought I'd ever see a Nelson!). But then, by JW's standards the movie was relatively vanilla. I also enjoyed Dave's bit part in H.S. USA where he played a janitor.

Heck, I think David did pretty well for himself, scoring June :groucho

I love seeing Dave playing an aggressive role. He was very good in Peyton Place too.

I can think of a couple episodes where Dave outfoxed Rick for the girl.

In A Picture in Ricks Notebook, Dave ended up outfoxing Rick while also helping him out. Rickys wanted to have bring Dave's girlfriend to his party to save himself embarrassment after he wrote what he did on the picture. Dave made Ricky think he was having his girlfriend help out, but in the end we found out Dave really got the girls younger sister to help Ricky. Dave even says something at the end of the episode ( I think it's that episode..anyway at one episode) to Ozzie and Harriet, something like All my life Rickys always wanted everything I had, footballs, basball gloves, now my girl. But I don't want to share anymore.

In another episode, there was one girl both Dave and Ricky saw in the cafeteria. Ricky liked her and was trying to pursue her. Dave acted indifferent. Then this other girl keeps running into Ricky all the time. And all her friends are around too. Ricky starts to wonder if it's fate he is seeing this girl all around or he's being set up by the girls friends. He really likes the first girl, who is always busy when Ricky asks her out. Dave is always with Ricky when he sees the new girl. So Ricky tells Dave maybe she likes Dave and that's why they keep running into her. Dave denies it, and tries nudging Ricky to this girl. Finally Ricky starts to date the girl he who kept running into him.

And we find out in the end that Dave set the whole thing up with the girl running into Ricky so Dave could have the first girl. And he's the reason she was always busy when Ricky asked her out.

Dave could be pretty sly at times. :)

Do you remember the name of the ep? It's not "The Girl Who Loses Things" is it?

It's not the girl who loses things.

The name of it I'm not sure of. I'll try looking in the Ozzie and Harriet episode guide to see if I can figure out what name it may be. I get so confused with the episode at times. So many episodes seem like they could go with different titles.

Yes, sometimes the ep titles do get a bit confuisng. If you find out the name of the ep that'd be great. Maybe its one I don't have. Unf. I only have 179 eps. Which is enough of a cross-section to discuss the show intelligently - but I'm afraid - not as many as many others who post here. So there may some nuances of the show I'm missing because of that.
