People always distrust sources like IMDb, but the site is improving all the time. Lots of dedicated people contribute corrections and additional info every day. For example, I've looked at Irene Vernon's actual senior H.S. yearbook picture and found her year of grad from that. There is info that comes from first-hand sources.

I agree w/ your assessment RE $64,000 Question. It's doubtful that a 16-year-old would've won on Shakespeare w/o attracting a lot more notice. This is similar to how the claim that Elizabeth Montgomery was 57 when she died in 1995 instead of 62 can be disproven. I read an article in a 1953 TV Guide that mentioned "20-year-old" Elizabeth Montgomery, who had appeared on her dad's tv program "Robert Montgomery Presents", so there is no way that she could've been born in 1938 rather than 1933.

I'm a bit confused now. I relied on Wikipedia, which had Danza born 4/21/1950, but IMDB states that he was born 4/21/1951, so one or the other is incorrect. If both can be updated by anyone, either could be inaccurate. Is one source more reliable than the other generally?

Proof isn't needed to verify whether or not someone such as Frank Cady is still alive. If Mr. Cady had passed on, it would've made the news outlets plus all the more reliable websites such as variety, Hollywood Reporter, etc... would've mentioned it. The only exception would be if a celebrity had passed away and for whatever reason it wasn't made public until much later. One example of this occurred when John Crawford who played Sheriff Epp Bridges on "The Waltons" died on 9-21-10 and it wasn't announced until over a month later.

However his father and Sherry's stepdad, writer-director Montgomery Pittman, died in 1964 in his mid-40s (born in 1920, according to Marc Scott Zicree's Twilight Zone book; IMDB gives his lifespan as 1917-1962). IMDB does not list a death date Robert John Pittman, giving his birth date as 01/20/1956.

What gives you the idea that Edward Albert thought he would live to be as old as his father? He spent over a decade caring for his father who had Alzheimer's disease and then learned near the time of Eddie's death that he had developed lung cancer and died just over a year later. From all indications, it seems that Edward Albert was a kind and devoted man and not the type that would waste time thinking about whether or not he would live as long as his dad.

Wingreen who played Harry Snow the bartender (who was old in the 1970's!) is one of the few actors to have played a role in both Star Wars and Star Trek.* Born in 1920.
