I remember only small portions of this case from when I was little and would watch the show even though it scared me :) This one wasn't particularly scary, just weird. It was from the original run, probably early 90s, and involved a young woman who was developing a strange growth or substance on various parts of her body. I seem to remember her sticking her tongue out for the camera to show the stuff there.

And I think she found a weird makeshift treatment involving something that I remember as looking like gold leaf as sold for detailing/crafting purposes, sheets of metallic stuff. I feel like I saw it rerun once or twice, but tuning in occasionally since the mid-/late 90s, it hasn't been back on and it's driving me nuts. Am I remembering an actual case?

That was the story of "Katie", who claims to be psychic and be able to cry diamonds and sweat gold. Total hoax, in my opinion.

In the story a couple of people re-created the gold bit by gluing gold leafing to their bodies with hair spray. It is still a pretty funny segment.

The gold leaf that appeared on her body is the stuff that you can purchase in very thin sheets (thinner than paper) to gild picture frames and other items with real gold. I think it's 22 or 23 karat gold.
