Now I know that a lot of you old-timers have already read multiple posts by me regarding this topic. Please try to bare with me! The fact that I am writing about it again has to do with some new posts that I have read on the pages of "Three's Company" and the "Brady Bunch". These have to do with inconsistancies from episode to episode. Because I know that new people are coming to this site all of the time, I would like to give them a chance to read about this idea and comment on it if they want to. It seems that in the course of two years, both Katie and Julie have reverted from a more liberal point of view to a more conservative one. Let us start with the first-season episode known as "Julie's First Love". In this episode, Katie feels very strongly about the notion that it is okay for a girl to approach a guy and ask him for a date. She is trying to sell Julie on this idea. In the end, Julie asks out an electronics wiz and he takes her to the school dance! Two years later we come to "Samantha's Protest". For those who are interested, this episode is up on "You Tube". Early in this episode, we find Katie and Julie coming in from a morning stroll and Katie talking herself into believing that a handsome boy that they walked past was whistleing at her. Julie tries to bring Katie back to reality by telling her that the boy was calling his dog! Later at the protest, Katie meets up with the same guy and flurts her butt off. She gets nowhere! In the end, we learn that the cute guy from the protest is taking "Samantha" to a movie the next day! I am sure that, in the minds of the writers, this is supposed to be a form of poetic justice. It serves Katie right for her egotisim and for acting in a manner that was, in the words of Julie "discusting"! Because Julie was the one that I always had a crush on, I really enjoyed seeing her proven right! The only thing that I was never able to figure out was what happened in the course of two years that made Katie feel that it was inappropriate for her to ask him out! Any ideas anyone?
