Either that, or girl needs a stylist - STAT.
Double-belted into vintage mom jeans, the alleged pop singer / former reality TV star / attempted country crooner Jessica Simpson appeared at some sort of chili cook-off concert thingy in Florida this weekend. And appear she did.
Her trademark airheadedness blonde curls and giant boobs dazzling smile may still be there, but as for that slim figure of hers, well, you can see for yourself below ...

TripperFan 01-26-2009, 03:43 PM Wow - she has put on some weight.
That's actually often a sign of a happy woman in love. Let's hope that's what it is.
She should get back working out again at least to tone it up.
HuntingtonM15 01-26-2009, 04:11 PM It's refreshing to see someone famous who isn't 65 lbs. I can't wait until this anorexia phase with celebrities passes. And on a Jessica note, I can't wait until her country music "career" passes as well. :)
MonarC 01-26-2009, 04:12 PM It could be that or it could be the total opposite. She could be having trouble with her relationship with Tony Romo. Whatever it is I hope she doesn't let her weight get out of hand. She is such a cutie. :)
I think she sould cut back on the belts.
;)
Superstar 01-26-2009, 05:18 PM She's put on some weight... she looks like a normal person now.
PunkyP0WER 01-26-2009, 07:14 PM i'm not obese, but not model thin either. i weighed 115lb when i met my husband and i weigh a lot more than that now but he still compliments me everyday, more than once a day, and is still always "after me".
MickeyMac 01-26-2009, 08:32 PM She's still appealing to me, nothing wrong with her putting a little meat on her bones, more to grab on to:happyface
Also its nice to see a female celebrity who dosent look like she has a eating disorder. Frankly I think we should see more female celebrities who have a fuller figure, it sends a message to young girls that there is nothing wrong with your body shape. I'm just talking here.

catlover79 01-26-2009, 11:19 PM I just hope she's not trying to squeeze into the Daisy Dukes at this point!
Jude The Obscure 01-27-2009, 01:19 AM I personally thought she was a bag of bones as Daisy Duke!!
platinumblondelife 01-27-2009, 01:57 AM She looks horrible in that photo.

Janice 01-27-2009, 08:53 PM She's really packed it on. Nobody wants anybody to be anorexic, but I hope she doesn't get fat. She looks better when her weight is down. She was still curvy.

It's not very flattering, that's for sure.

Mikado 01-28-2009, 05:58 AM I know, that was mean, my bad  :tiphat:
MonarC 01-29-2009, 12:16 AM Someone had to say it. Get back on that tread mill girl.
Skywalker 01-29-2009, 12:52 AM Holy crap she gained 5 pounds! Well that's the end of her career. ;)
I feel bad for a lot of these celebs who get bashed everytime they gain a little weight. If they gain a few pounds, they're considered fat. If they lose a few, they're anorexic. They can never win. I remember about a year ago people made a huge fuss about Jennifer Love Hewitt gaining a little weight. It's just absurd. Even with that extra 5-10 pounds she was still one of the most beautiful women around and so is Jessica, IMO.
MonarC 01-29-2009, 12:14 PM I don't feel sorry for them. They wanted to be the center of attention an now that they are they have to be 'perfect'. Otherwise they will be judged by all of us who are 'normal'. I know that might seem ****ed up but that's just how it is in this life.
Janice 02-13-2009, 09:41 PM Jessica Simpson Picks Up the Mic to Address Her Weight Gain
Jessica Simpson took some time during her concert with Rascal Flatts last night to lighten things up about her weight gain. According to OK!, the singer, dressed in shorts and a loose-fitting top, joked with a New York City crowd that "I was worried my pants would rip tonight!"
In addition to taking a lighter attitude towards the criticism about her weight, OK! Magazine reports in this week's issue that she has also made a plan to lose any weight she has gained.
On Jessica's Weight Gain: Insiders are betting Jess will have no problem shedding 15 or 20 pounds—and fitting back into her Daisy Dukes—as soon as she stops stressing. "She eats her feelings— it’s hard having people criticizing your every move and ridiculing you on blogs,” one close friend tells OK! "She’s in no rush to lose the weight. But once she stops touring, she’ll calm her nerves and it will hopefully fall off."
OK!· What She's Eating: “She loves guacamole with chips and has it every chance she can,” her friend tells OK!, “along with spinach, artichoke or French onion dip, wings with blue cheese and jalapeno peppers—and she douses salt on just about everything. She also generally has dessert after every meal—chocolate cake, or cookies n’ cream ice cream.” Still, the pal points out, “Jessica knows how to get her body back to a healthy and toned weight—just by doing basic things [trainers] Mike Alexander and Harley Pasternak taught her in the past.”
· On Her Exercise Regime: “Jessica’s not the best when it comes to going to the gym,” her friend tells OK!. “She’d much rather gossip with her girlfriends than hit the treadmill, so I know she needs to get a workout buddy to run with her.” Now who might that be? “Tony would do it in a heartbeat.”

You sound a little jealous. lol

I agree Justin. I still think she's very attractive. I don't see what the big deal is.
Janice 02-13-2009, 11:25 PM It happens to a lot of celebrities. They go up and down. Jessica is young. She'll take it off.

HuntingtonM15 02-14-2009, 12:11 AM I may not like Jessica, but I don't think she should have to answer to this at all. Who cares if she recently packed on a few more pounds, it's ridiculous. She's far from being fat. It also sends a horrible message that she is going to try to lose the weight so soon. I know she must have felt obligated to speak out about it, but it's sad. And what is with her friend telling what she's eating?! Like that is at all relevant.
catlover79 02-14-2009, 08:24 PM ^ It's just a shame that the media and public at large haven't learned when it comes to weight and body image. Look at Karen Carpenter, Tracey Gold, and countless others. How sad. ohno:
TripperFan 02-14-2009, 09:53 PM i agree. So big deal, she's put on some weight. And as I said, it's often because they're actually happy in their private lives for the time - now the media circus to destroy any of that.
I'd love to see the ones who write and photograph this stuff to have to constantly be in top shape and weight throughout their entire lives. Even with a healthy lifestyle it happens. Big deal. It's hardly earth shattering news. Get over it and report on the good things she does (i.e. shows for the troops and all).
dawsongirl 02-14-2009, 10:41 PM OMG...she looks normal now!!! HEAVEN FORBID.
****ing media.
I don't think that outfit she was wearing would look good on anyone, fat or skinny.

Exactly - it's more the outfit and the angle of the photos. I've seen other pictures of her and yes, she's put on a FEW. People need to get more lives of their own than watch someone gain about 10 pounds max.

I agree.
ekkostar 02-16-2009, 12:13 AM It's not her it's the outfit. Geez. People only have eyes for photoshopped women these days.
Janice 02-16-2009, 06:36 PM I hate this new politically correct BS where, if you even try to discuss a big weight gain on a person, you're shallow or whatever. What's wrong with talking about a celeb's weight gain? Nobody's attacking their character, and nobody's bashing.
Jessica Simpson has packed it on. It's not the angle of the photograph or anything else. She's put on a good 20 pounds. I guess people who think that she should stay at a weight where she looks better as a performer are supposed to keep their traps shut. The same thing went on with Leah Remini. Anyone who stated that it looked strange that she was playing the role of a hot wife, while in reality she was overweight for that role, long after giving birth, anyone who dared mention that was strung up by their ankles.
It's show business. Most people like their stars looking fit, not anorexic. Let me get that out before the words are put in my mouth. They're paying for the beauty, the curves, the gowns, etc. I think Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears and the rest look better when they're not flabby. Plenty, most stars manage to keep their shapes. Elizabeth Montgomery had three children throughout the run of Bewitched. She obviously ate right and exercised after because she looked great. Never too thin, just not overweight. I guess I'm supposed to pretend that overweight is the new healthy. God help the person who has the opinion that celebs whose careers are based on their looks, should keep their shapes.
catlover79 02-16-2009, 07:09 PM ^ I'd never want to be in the public eye. How horrible it is to be judged by your looks and weight, no matter what you do. It's so sad. :(

True, but they know the deal going in. Delta Burke, Kirstie Alley, many others, caught heat for gaining weight. They were hired to play shapely beautiful woman. I don't think anyone cares about a few pounds, but when it's two or four dress sizes, it becomes almost a violation of contract. Back in the day, movie actresses had it written into their contracts. Other stipulations were put in writing as well, hair color and length for example. They even had moral clauses where they had to "behave". That's just nuts and overboard. The only point I'm trying to make is that nobody is allowed to discuss a celeb's weight gain freely. I don't get that. I personally don't care if Jessica weighs 300 pounds, or any other celeb for that matter. With that said, I understand how the industry works. When a celeb is hired, for lack of a better word, based largely on their appearance, I think it's fair to discuss it when they get fat. Jessica's not fat, just in general.
Show business has an almost unreal quality about it. The beauty is highly emphasized. Most people want to see near perfection. They can get chubby at the mall, or usually by looking at their spouse on the couch. I don't make the rules. I just know them. People in show business who want to keep their jobs have to keep their shapes. Madonna gets it. Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon and all the other actress who get 10 and 20 million for a movie get it.
catlover79 02-17-2009, 01:37 AM ^ Good point. Lisa Whelchel (Facts of Life) has gone into great details about her weight struggle as a teen. She devoted a whole chapter about it in her autobiography. Interesting stuff!
littlebelle 02-18-2009, 05:54 PM Delta Burke was fired because of her weight.
