I was at the library the other day and checked out season 3 of The Facts of Life. I watched it as soon as I got home and can't believe how great each and every episode is! It's hard to find a sitcom type show that makes such a profound impact on the viewer. Each episode dealt with all sort of controversial issues (teenage motherhood, power of the press, rape, racism, etc). This show first aired when I was a toddler, so I don't remember any episodes and that's why I consider myself a "new fan". This is Season 3 considered one of their best seasons?

Welcome UMfan77! Happy to see you re-discover FOL. Season 3 is great. What has been your favorite episode so far?

I have to say "Runaway" and "New York New York" are among my faves this season but "The Four Musketeers" is a classic FOL episode.

What's great is you can watch these episodes over and over again and never tire of the storyline. I LOVE FOL!!! We need Season 4 on dvd!!!

You know what? The episodes "Runaway" and "New York New York" weren't on the DVD's I got. The whole season was only on 2 discs, so I wonder if the library has a different version of Season 3. That stinks! :(

Yeah you should check into that because it sounds like one of the discs is missing. Season 3 is awesome, one of my favorites actually. Probably my favorite from the early years. I actually prefered the later seasons lol.

I love the later seasons too! They have a sort of "Golden Girls" feel to them. Maybe it was the decor. Pastels really ruled back then. ~ha,ha~

Two of my favorite episodes from the later seasons are the ones where Stacey Q guest-starred. So much fun.

Tootie (thinking up a stage name): Ginger....Curry

Natalie: Great Tootie. When in doubt, name yourself after a spice rack.

Also love the El Debarge episode.

Girl at the radio station: Well, it's called what we're up to and it's about...well...what we're up to.

I love the later seasons too, especially season 6. I think it's because that was when I really started liking the show. I'd enjoyed watching it in the earlier seasons but it was seasons 5 and 6 that made me realize that I truly loved the show :D .
The El Debarge episode cracks me up too! When I was a kid (about 11) and I first watched it, I cringed the whole time and thought it was one of my least favorites but watching it again as an adult I liked it much better and now it's one of my favorites. Always makes me laugh when I'm having a bad day :) .
Blair: Don't worry, they have machines to cover up the mistakes.
Natalie: Do they have a machine that will cover up Tootie burping halfway through the song?

Priceless! I also liked The Lady That Came to Dinner episode where Jo dresses up as the White Rabbit lmao.

I really loved the Over Our Heads era...Edna's Edibles was great too. You're right, the pastels were AWESOME! It just gave the show such a great feel. And once they were older, I felt the quality got better too. The girls were older and the story lines got better.

OMG! I love that one too. I laugh hysterically when she comes out with the ukulele and starts singing "come to the cabaret".

The fashions were fun too. There's that episode where Natalie is looking for a new image and she goes and puts a scarf on and comes back downstairs and says "How's this?" and Jo says "Night and day". LOL!!!

That's the one where the girls make New Year's Resolutions. One of my faves! Good story too.
