Former CHiPs star Erik Estrada's real-life cop exploits have paid off - he's well on his way to becoming a U.S. federal Marshall after joining an anti-internet porn task force in Virginia. The former TV cop trained to become a real crime fighter for reality TV flop Armed & Famous - and when the 2006 show was canceled, he stayed on as a lawman.

He is now a fully-trained police reserve officer in Muncie, Indiana, where the TV show was based, and his determination to become a real cop has impressed officials in Virginia.

I wish him well. I don't know much about the guy (Erik Estrada), and this is an aside, not directly related to the thread, but he is one heck of an actor, imo. Even before the Chips days, he portrayed gang leader Nicky Cruz in the movie, The Cross and the Swithblade. That was for me, one of the most compelling, credible portrayals I've seen of any actor. I wish Erik much success in his new endeavors.
