I was just thinking, did UM ever mention the origin of those photos shown of the Baskin children on that infamous update that aired two weeks after the original segment?

They looked like extreme enlargements, so that made me think that the Baskin kids happened to be in the background of someone's family or vacation photos or something similar.

Assuming that's true, do you think this sighting could be a case of mistaken identity?

I got the jist from the UM segment that the pictures from the pool party in Santa Clara were from a party that was held that the Maples attended with Bobby & Christi. Looked like it was possibly at an apartment complex or something where they were living, because the broadcast says that "the Maples told neighbors they were the parents of the children". They could possibly be stills from a video.

Of course the newer sightings could be mistaken identity. I would think that to go out in the press like they have, that the Detectives must have reason to believe that the sighting(s) were credible.
