i was watching a few minutes today and at the end of the episode it said (in big letters, encompassing the whole screen) A Spike Original.

what the...?

Spike isn't even among the 1st 3 networks to broadcast the show? And it's basically old episodes with a new narrator. How is it a Spike Original?

Good they claim it, no one else wants to take credit for the bag of **** it has become. SPIKE is very original in when they choose to air it for sure, too

Because they've spliced the segments together to make new episodes. They mix old and newer segments. And edit the segments, such as making the Norman Ladner segment about 5 minutes long.

That's the only thing I can come up with.

Or maybe they think that William the Bloody originally came up with the idea and want to give him credit. Someone at Spike has to have a sense of humor.

Good observation Wiseguy. I definitely miss the old version.

Oh, come off it. It is original, isn't it???

The next thing you are going to try and tell me is that the call center behind Farinna isn't real and that those people are actors.

Sheesh...

Yeah, it bugs me to. They must think people either forgot this was on before, are too young to remember, or that on a "guy's" network no one will care enough to remember. Pretty annoying though.

They should air Stack's version and then this version for comparison.

The differences between the two versions is really apparent when you watch old versions on YouTube. The old version really took it's time with each case and teh opening music was the BEST! Really haunting.

It looks like the new version (hey it's better than nothing!) is off the schedule for a while.

Well I guess you can argue that the revamping of the show (and lets admit it SPIKE's version of UM shares little with any of its predecessors) but I guess you could argue that SPIKE's revamp of the show is an original production on their part due to how much time and money they put into warping the show to fit their view of how it should be. But yeah I can see your point.

I actually find it funny how SPIKE tries to disguise how old the show is by never revealing the dates of when the crimes/cases took place. If you didn't know any better you'd think Don Kemp took off into the Wyoming prarie five years ago.

I agree that bugged me too.
