Wow--talk about a brat! I mean capital B-R-A-T!!!!! No wonder Bud and Betty were always shooing her away. "No one in this family ever pays attention to me". To look at her dad and have the gall to say "I don't love you anymore" when she simply doesn't get her selfish way.....what nerve.
Lauren Chapin was really outstanding doing this episode.

I couldn't even imagine this being done on a Brady Bunch episode--the whole theme (not just the nervy backtalk).

I even choked up at this one, after she says I don't love you anymore you can see a parents hurt in Jim's eyes.

Robert Young did that scene very well--Jim was crushed to hear that from Kathy, his precious "Kitten".

Lauren Chapin really did a great job as Kathy/Kitten in Season 2. There was great chemistry between her and Robert Young. So sad how her real life was. I don't think there was a scene she was in that she didn't own it.

^Well, that was just part of her life......she is doing great today and she is an inspiration that no matter where life takes you, you can overcome the adversity and come out better for it.

I read her autobiography a number of years ago - I think it was called Father Really Does Know Best. It was quite good. I should see if the library has it and read it again.

Yep, i read it too, when it first came out......i'm sure she could do an updated edition to include what's happened to her since writing it.

Yes, that book was published back in 1988 - I say it's past time for an updated version!! :D

Lauren had a lot of turmoil going on in her life at the time so it was easy for her to play those kind of scenes, so did Robert Young.
