Disco is dead. Again.

CBS president Nina Tassler kicked off the net's portion of press tour this morning by confirming the obvious: Swingtown has been cancelled.

"We're not going back to Swingtown," Tassler said. "At the end of the day the show was well executed, it was well received, the performances were great, the writing was great. It was a risk, we took it, and we're proud of it."

This always seemed more like a show suited for cable - I wonder if one of the cable channels will pick it up.

^ It wouldn't be a bad show for the CW or Lifetime, maybe. But that probably won't happen either.

It's funny, because this was pretty much expected by everyone, but when iits official, it just seems sad. Such a great show, that never got a chance. Nina Tassler was a fan of the show, and the show was exactly what she said it was, but at the end of the day, its all about making money, and this show wasn't making money for them like they wanted it to.

I think at this point, Bravo would still be the best option for cable. It would really blend in well with their audiences, and it would definitely bring them a great demo ratings, as well as new viewers. They already have rights to the first season repeats, so why can't they go ahead with new episodes?

I've been sending them emails via their feedback form at bravotv.com daily - I suggest everyone do the same.
