The story of Mary the MS sufferer who was cured by lightning two times as also featured tonight on the Bio Channel show Urban Legends Fact or Fiction. Does anyone know her last name? I remembered seeing the story on UM years ago. The interview on the Urban Legends show was recent and Mary has gained a lot of weight but is in overall good health.

Last night this aired on the Chiller Channel's show Paranormal Witness. They did a series on Urban Legends presenting three stories and the viewer has to guess which are true and which false. Of course I guessed Mary Clamser as true having seen her on UM years ago. However, there was an update to the story--she was back in the wheelchair having relapsed after her recovery following the initial lightning strike around 1994. She was outside in the wheelchair in 2005 when she was struck by lightning again--and again experienced a miraculous recovery. She now has an insulated room where she hides at the first hint of a storm. :D One difference from the UM reenactment, this one said lightning hit first when she touched a metal toilet handle--on UM it was bathtub faucet handles--perhaps UM simply didn't want to show a toilet on TV.

It's said lightning never strikes twice, but I saw on some Ripley's Believe It or Not-type show some old guy who had been hit a number of times. Also, didn't Unsolved Mysteries do a story about a family which was hit more than once? In that one, lightning flashed across a tin ceiling.
