View Full Version : The Future of FOX's "The Moment of Truth"
Brian Damage 01-13-2009, 11:46 PM —Critically loathed game show "The Moment of Truth" remains on the shelf for now. The network has 24 episodes in the can and will use them either this summer or when it has a hole in its schedule.

catlover79 01-14-2009, 01:51 AM I'm still disgusted that FOX airs crap like this and pulls the plug on shows like Back To You. Not fair!!

Don't know why they call this excuse of a show a game show.

Well said, Monika! I know what real game shows are like very well (remember some of the late 80s-early 90s ones?), and "The Moment of Truth" is definitely NOT one of them!
JulieSomoski 01-15-2009, 07:24 PM I gotta agree - this show is nothing but trash. It's an hour of air, pretty much. It's a waste of time, and waste to put on the schedule, which is why FOX isn't airing it until summer. Hopefully it can slowly disappear.

Yes, I remember REAL game shows like Pyramid and Classic Concentration.

Hang On, it's not total trash. It's not the best show out there but it's not trash. Yes, last summer i started careing less for it, but it is rediculous on some of the questons they ask the contestents. Some of them are too personal!!! But, out of the two of them, back to you deserves to be on the air more!
Jude The Obscure 01-20-2009, 10:34 AM Another one of those shows that benefitted from the American Idol lead in, but once out on its own, quickly sank in the ratings. another one is "Til Death". The only one to prove itself as a genuine hit was "House, M.D."

I agree. It'll be interesting to see how Fringe will do after Idol. I think the show is dead, though. it's latest airings have been down a lot from numbers it was once doing.

yea but they were reruns. Fringe hasn't had an original episode since December.

Aren't they supposed to start airing new ones soon?

Yep they have a new episode tonight.

Thought so - thanks, Sonny. :D

I was talking about the last original episodes - didn't they only get like 7-8 million, with big drops in the second half hour?
The show jumped up after its premiere, but since early October it's been steadily declining. I just don't see the audience returning to it tonight.

ryan423 01-21-2009, 02:20 AM I watched the series premiere, thinking I'd be sitting at the edge of my seat, but I wasn't. The first 45 minutes were dull, so I turned the channel and watched reruns of Family Guy.
As sorry as I am for the fans, it doesn't surprise me that ratings are dropping.

Same thing for me. The pilot ended up being kind of dull. And looks like ratings weren't as hot as FOX would have liked last night - averaged just under 12 million I believe, with a huge drop at 9:30. I wonder how Lie to Me will do tonight.

Fringe is really a cult type show. Those type of shows never get big ratings. Lie to Me sounds like it could be good but the only problem is that its going up against Lost and Criminal Minds, two shows that I love. They should have aired it at 8.

Fringe sounds like a show, if cancelled, would turn into a cult hit, just like Moonlight and Jericho.
Even with the Idol lead-in, Lie to Me will have a very tough time tonight. Thankfully for FOX, if it gets any kind of audience tonight, it'll be moving to 8pm soon anyways. Lost will likely premiere big tonight - should take the demo easily, but it'll be a close fight for viewers between it and Criminal Minds.
