I heard Bert Byeleven this morning on Mike and Mike saying it doesn't make sense that he is snubbed again.
I never in my life heard a player b*Tching about not getting in the hall of fame-lol
I thought only fans did that. Now he really won't get in

I heard this too. He was a little cocky. Never heard of the guy but he has 287 wins, BUT, in like 25 years too lol. Eh he won't get in. I'll take a million guys over this guy, I looked up his stats and they showed the highlights of his long career on the screen, on ESPN when they were talking about what you mentioned. You're right, they shouldn't bitch who gets in. Actually, I believe their is a huge panel of baseball writers that are designated to pick who goes in the HOF each year, if their eligable.

I thought I heard somewhere that they have a few chances or a certain number of chances to get in and if they don't, they can never get in.

I think he was good, but not great.
He won a lot of games, but nothing leaps out.
Look at the great Philly pitcher Steve Carlton, for instance.
It's not enough to just win; strikeouts, ERA, innings, Cy Yongs, postseason success.
It's not just enough to win. You have to be more than good- you also have to be dominant and do something that stands out from others.

He pitched for the Twins, didn't he? He was also a radio announcer for them, too, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah he did pitch for the Twins. Good point Chris. This is a perfect example for me with Kareem Abdul Jabar in basketball. He played what, 22, 23 years? He is the all-time leader in points, but I think Jordan, and a few guys are better. Point is, just because you play for a lot of years, in any given American sport, it doesn't mean you belong or should be in the HOF. Now I'm not saying KAJ should n't be in the HOF cause he's good. I'm just saying, if you play a lot of years, yeah that's good and you spent a lot of time, energy, work and years into the sport, but it doesn't mean you're good or belong in the Hall of Fame.
