The Dallas folks celebrate a decade of backstabbing, lies, greed, and lust with a tenth season that sizzles with intrigue. To start, JR spreads his brand of poison far from Big D, throwing big bucks at a twisted mercenary eager to blow up Saudi oil fields. The Feds gets wind of the plot and lean on JR until he sings like a Texas mockingbird and the mercenary decides the world would be a better place without JR. And there’s another troublemaker making life interesting in Texas -- a leather-tough, white-haired ranch hand. He has Jock’s letters, belt buckle, knife...and memories? Could it be Jock survived that years-ago copter crash? Is there even more underhanded, over-the-top fun in season ten? Bet your cowboy boots there is!

I’m not even positive it’s edited, but I wanted to nonetheless bring this up. Again, if IS edited, that would indicate master print damage.

Forgive my posting part of your review here, but I've just got done watching the episode in question, and it is NOT edited. Rather, it is sped up by 2%, accounting for the shorter time. You can tell right off the bat with the theme song... it's sounds like it's not in the right key. Also, when Miss Ellie screams at J.R., she's sounds slightly screechy. Her natural voice doesn't sound like that.

What I suspect happened is that the original master for the episode was damaged or lost, so WB went to a PAL formatted master instead, which ordinarily has things sped up by 2% in their audio. Sometimes this is done even in syndication. A PAL formatted print is used and the sped up time helps to accommodate a shorter span so that little to no editing has to be done for more commercials. The difference in audio is so slight that the average viewer will not pick up on it, but I can tell right off of the bat that this is what's occurred.

Give a listen to this ep's theme song and compare it to another episode's. Not only do they sound different, the duration of time for the theme to play is shorter on "Bar-B-Cued" than on the other episodes.

So there you have it. The DVD set is unedited. I suspect they thought it was better (and practically unnoticeable) to use a PAL master than an edited version of a NTSC print (the format that is used in the USA and Canada). Frankly, I agree with them if this is the case. We get everything included. I applaud their efforts since it would have been much easier for them to go with a syndicated print. At least they're trying to make us happy.

This was a good season, Patrick Duffy came back and the show got right back on track.

It was also Victoria Principal's last season, thus the beginnig of various charaters leaving the show.

I am watching this season right now and its really good. I like the "maybe its Jock back from the dead" storyline. Only thing is DNA was around in 1986, and they could have had this guy take a DNA test and that would immedietly prove he wasnt Jock Ewing.
