I read on another site that MNTV has been beating CW for 6 weeks in a row now in the ratings. What do you all think? Will this trend hold??

I think CW will beat MNTV at some point, but MNTV will definately win a lot of weeks. SmackDown seems to have really been a score for them.
For me, the CW has very little to offer in program quality. I actually enjoy a lot of stuff on MNTV.

I don't think it's been 6 straight weeks. More like four (check my averages on the Sunday final ratings threads). But remember CW was in repeats while MNT had holiday programming. CW should regain its lead this week.

What programs does MNTV have to offer besides Smackdown?

My records show that MyNetworkTV has topped The CW for six weeks in a row in the P2+ viewers measure, and out-ranked The CW in A18-49 in five of those six weeks (one was a tie in the rating). As well, in the P2-17/50+ demographic, MyNetworkTV has out-ranked The CW in 11 of the 15 weeks of the season-to-date:

MyNetworkTV is exhibiting tremendous upward momentum, fueled in large part by 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown', but also significant year-over-year gains on each of the other five nights that MNT broadcasts. Even in this week 16, the are going to finish up only 100,000 viewers behind The CW who have returned to original programming.

What programs does MNTV have to offer besides Smackdown?
Next to 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown', MyNetworkTV offer five nights of themed programming:

Magic Mondays - encores of 'The Twilight Zone', followed by the 'Masters of Illusion' or 'Magics Biggest Secrets Revealed' series both of which look at magicians and their craft;
Crimetime Tuesdays - new verite-style police reality series 'Street Patrol', 'Jail' and the new 'Vice Squad';
Funny Wednesdays - 'World's Funniest Moments', a You-Tubeish clip show starring Mr. Arsenio Hall, followed by the candid camera-styled 'Tony Rock Project' and the sitcom 'Under One Roof' starring Mr. Flavor Flav;
'My Thursday Night Movie' and 'My Saturday Night Movie', which broadcast a mix of theatrical films, with about a third of them being broadcast network premieres.

Im glad to see MNTV gaining so much momentum! The network seems very promising now, unlike it did in the fall of '06. I like the reality stuff they have to offer.

MNTV has gone up every year in quality, while CW has pretty much gotten worse.
Message to CW: it's time for Smallville to go.

While there is no doubt that the netlet is improving, like you state a vast amount of that is due to WWE. In fact, one could even imagine that the addition of WWE is significantly increasing the whole line up. As it allows a vast (for them) vehicle for cross promotion.

And as for only trailing the CW by only 100,000 now that they are back with original programming. That is not entirely accurate. The CW most viewed night is still in repeats. So it would be like comparing this netlet when it doesn't have its strongest night.

There is no question that the CW has failed in many regards. About the only success they have had is in creasing Monday's viewer levels and demo levels. In fact Mondays original airings are its strongest (so far) in the CW's history. The rest is pretty bleak. While Thursday still delivers their highest viewer numbers on average, Smallville continues to be down year to year. And while Supernatural has been up over last year consistently it hasn't been enough to make up for Smallvilles declines. And Sundays, and Fridays are utter failures. With Tuesdays' not doing that much better (viewer wise).

Dumont, while I am here. I have a question that I always forget to ask at pifeedback. And that is what the heck are the P2 ratings I don't have a friggin clue.

P2 is total viewers.

Message to CW: it's time for Smallville to go.

That's one of the few CW shows I watch! The current season is a good one, better than the last.

But I do agree that overall, MyNetworkTV is improving while the CW seems to have started to run out of steam.
