I've been following a discussion on another forum about John Wayne's height.
It is listed as 6'4". Some agree; some don't. Some claim he was 6'3" and even 6'2". I myself think he was an actual 6'4". He was taller than many 6'+ co-stars.

What do you think? 6'4" or not quite that tall?

I always questioned his height. In some films he looks 6' 4" and in others he looks 6' 1 or 2". Of course when he is standing next to a short person he is going to look 6' 4".

Yea I think he was 6'4" and if John Wayne says so, then it must be true. :D

Here he is next to Desi Arnaz (5'9.5").

I think John Wayne was 6'4", if that was his claim. He towered over everyone in his movies. I wouldn't be surprised if Desi Arnaz wore shoes that added height, although that looks like a 6 and a half inch height difference, if my math is correct.

Yeah, I think 6'4" is very likely.

I am having a ball reading the comments on that website! Some people just insist he was 6'2" or whatever. I have posted a few times. Look for "Tony G." and check my Dec. 23 post in which I have a link to photos.
