I used to listen to an oldies radio station frequently from the age of 13-16 and I used to hear some of Earth, Wind and Fire's hits - mostly songs such as September and Fantasy. I was listening to some of their songs a few days ago and reminded of how I'd enjoyed them. I found out that they were the ones who sang Let's Groove, another song I enjoy.

I've always loved EWF. Did you know that lead singer Phillip Bailey later had a major hit duet with Phil Collins ("Easy Lover")?

EW&F are pretty commerical when you compare them to P-Funk. That said they are pretty enjoyable. "After The Love Has Gone" is one of my faves by them.

I love Earth, Wind, and Fire! They are one of my favorite funk bands! They are one of the few R&B bands from the 70s that has a new following. My favorite song from them is "That's the Way Of the World" I can listen to that once, and then over and over.

Yeah, that's true. But the difference between the two groups is that EWF sang clean funk, and P-Funk played dirty funk! LOL I love both groups though.

That's a good one, as is "Can't Hide Love".

I grew up listening to EWF too. "After The Love Has Gone" is beautiful.

BTW- there is a DVD out of their Greek Theatre concert that they co-headlined with Chicago (another favorite). Great concert. :D Wish I was there in person.

They did justice to The Beatles' "Got To Get You Into My Life", which was the highest-charting song to come from the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band soundtrack!!

Surprisingly, "Let's Groove" one of their biggest hits ever, was there last major hit as a group.

Being a September baby myself, I've always been partial to their hit song of the same name. After The Love Has Gone was #2 on Billboard the day I was born!! (My Sharona was #1.)

EWF's performance of this song is one of the only two good scenes (Aerosmith's "Come Together" being the other) from that whole dreadful movie.

I loved Earth, Wind and Fire back in the day. Their song, Fantasy, just takes me away.

Earth Wind And Fire are awesome. My parents have a lot of their albums. You should check out their documentary dvd Shining Stars. It's very good and it's 2 hours. All of the band members are interviewed and they show old footage of their concerts. They also have a videos dvd which is real good.

Maurice White has retired from touring, if I remember correctly. I think he has MS. As far as I know, Phillip Bailey, Verdine White, and most of the classic lineup still perform live.
