View Full Version : Room 222 S1 for only 10.99
dakert 01-07-2009, 01:19 PM Pre-Order from amazon.com
in case anyone is is interested
I ordered mine with Partridge Family S4 to save on shipping
cajunhillbilly 01-07-2009, 04:23 PM I already preordered it, but wonder if this is a mistake on Amazon's part.
TV_Fan 01-07-2009, 07:26 PM I think it has to be a mistake. I placed it on pre-order now at this price. Will they honor it? If not I'm cancelling the order.
TeeVeeCloset 01-08-2009, 11:55 AM The studio listing isn't even shout factory, so they can get out of it by saying the original manufacturer discontinued the product...I ordered it too, but am expecting them to cancel it and put up a new listing and of course our preorders won't get transferred.

It does say Shout Factory (at least now).

VERY INTERESTING..when I ordered it shortly after the announcement, it listed a different manufacturer....we all still know we will not get a 4 disc set for 10.99!......thanks for the new info....
I just checked again for myself, wow...they have cover art, the listing says the price is 69% off retail....it really seems they will sell it for $10.99....this is a strange one....
dakert 03-23-2009, 01:59 PM It is now march 23rd. I am eagerly waiting for Amazon to say this has shipped.
Hard to believe I posted this 2 1/2 months ago. Time is flying by
TV_Fan 03-23-2009, 02:33 PM Me too. When I pre-ordered Mr Belvedere, they shipped mine last Monday & I had it by release day Tuesday. So far no word about Room 222 shipping yet though. I'm locked in at the $10.99 price & they have to honor it. That's undoubtedly why they haven't dropped the pre order discount price below $29.99 which is only a $5, 14% savings.
cajunhillbilly 03-23-2009, 03:24 PM actually I got an email that mine is on the way and they only charged me $10.99 plus shipping. I was afraid that they would up it to the higher price.
dakert 03-23-2009, 10:42 PM Room 222 is on its way. :happyface
Jude The Obscure 03-24-2009, 07:43 AM And you all got it for that $10.99 price??? Amazing!! :)
bencasey 03-24-2009, 12:44 PM I got mine yesterday (not from Amazon as I don't order from them anymore since they started charging tax). I'm glad they are uncut. I just can't wait to hear all of the morons, especially over at HTF, who start to complain about the picture quality. They are 16mm dirty transfers that were made to 1-inch tape around 30 years ago. Fox never remastered the show and anyone who expected them to remaster this was dreaming. The color is okay, not red but not great either. It's exactly as I expected it to be, coming from a crappy studio like Fox that doesn't give a damn about it's older shows.
TeeVeeCloset 03-24-2009, 05:31 PM I'm eagarly awaiting mine from amazon, it says it shipped for $10.99 on Saturday! I don't mind at all regarding the quality, Room 222 always looked crappy being on scratchy film, I think I would be too shocked to see it remastered, as long as it is uncut, I'm with member Lee. G who has stated that watching certain series not remastered gives you that nostalgic feel like when you were watching the series on a nice wooden 29 inch console TV!
dakert 03-24-2009, 10:23 PM I remember (like it was yesterday, early 70s) having to bang on the side of the Old B&W TV with a Shoe to get it to come in. As long as the television came in I was a happy camper err viewer.
dakert 04-25-2009, 11:05 PM I just finished season One and I am hoping season Two comes out shortly!!! for 10.99 ;)
OH Nuts! 04-26-2009, 09:16 AM I just finished season One and I am hoping season Two comes out shortly!!! for 10.99 ;)
I finished mine two weeks ago and just polished off The Paper Chase. Yes, I'd like to see more seasons of Room 222 too. I am just ecstatic this show finally came out on DVD, because I had pretty much given up hope.

I finished mine off a few weeks ago also. It was a lbind buy for me & I was very pleased. I even rewatched some episodes. I think we'll see more seasons.
As long as there's Shout! there's always hope, lol.

Yes, SHOUT! has been just wonderful. I bet we will too.
TeeVeeCloset 04-26-2009, 03:00 PM I always loved this show and was thrilled when it was announced it was coming out, never thought it would and I got it for the original amazon mistake price of $10.99, which again I still can't believe...anyway the point of my post is I really fell in love with this series all over again, not seeing many episodes for the past 25 years, its like watching a brand new series, I don't mind the not remastered quality at all, so far I'm just ending disc 2 and wanted to point out that I found the quality on "Our Teacher Is Obsolete" first episode disc 2 to be outstanding compared to the rest, funny how the colors were so vibrant right from the opening credits compared to the rest...check it out to see what I mean...I really hope Shout continues with this one, but I have my doubts for some reason, I did see an ad with a bunch of other shout titles in Entertainment Weekly the week room 222 came out, so at least there was some advertising......also Lloyd Haines is a brillant actor and was such a shame he lost his life to cancer at such an early age.
