I was really tickled to see the George Marsh segment on Spike today. Its one of the segments from the Pre-Stack Specials and I had never seen the update before. I thought the update was very sweet. It showed George's brother, niece and a few other relatives. It was nice that they were more happy about finding George (or Joseph Zelensky as what turned out to be his real name) and burying him in the family plot than laying claim to the money he left.
Also glad to see a few other rare ones have been shown on Spike in the last few days. The Ellender case as well as the Mike Carmichael and Billy Hargrove case. I didn't realize it before, but apparently Mike Carmichael died on his 38th birthday. :(

I was glad to see the George Marsh segment as well. It was nice to see how it turned out.
Heck, I've been enjoying most of the Spike segments. It's been fun to see cases I only saw once way back when or even never at all.

makes you wonder why Lifetime didn't have Stack re-do the first 3 specials so that they could have aired them.

well now that Spike has aired some of these lost cases, it makes me more inclined to believe that Lifetime had the capability of airing them, but just chose not to for some reason.

I have thought about this too. I think the problem is that Lifetime bought the series in the early nineties and didn't anticipate how well it would do, so they probably would not have wanted to spend the extra money upfront to have Stack re-narrate these. Remember, Lifetime didn't start working with Robert Stack until 2001-2002 or so. They didn't even show the Virginia Madsen specials in full until they had him on board to re-narrate them.

I remember hearing that Spike showed the segment and the update, but I never caught it.
Does Spike even show stories from the "Lost Loves" category? I know Marsh was technically "Lost Heirs" but I didn't think Spike showed these either.
