I was so fortunate to have a few hours notice to record the 1973 Sebastian Cabot TV Movie Remake of "Miracle on 34th Street" on Fox Movie Channel this past saturday, january 3, 2009. At first I thought my program guide made a mistake in the listing, since FXM always airs the classic version. To my surprise it aired completely commercial free and uncut, this movie was a syndicated staple in the 70's and early 80's including many annual airings on USA network, then it vanished for years until the "my network" affliates brought it back in 2007 and 2008, but it was cut to shreds with 3 minute long commercial breaks happening every 6 minutes! Literally over 20 minutes was cut from the film.

Now for those who say the film is subpar, a terrible remake, etc....I slightly agree and certainly prefer the classic natalie wood version......BUT....there is something very nostalgic for me for the cabot '73 version just in the fact that the movie abounds with a classic cast including David Hartman, Hartman's daughter, Tom Bosley, David Doyle, Jim Backus, Roddy McDowell and of course our own Mr. French!

The odd thing is the film did not appear on FXM in December but made its debut in January, after the holidays.....I now have what I consider the definative version of this seldom seen "gem" which never had any official home video/DVD release.

this is a little late, but a couple weeks before Christmas MY NETWORK TV showed it. Don't know if it was uncut, etc. though.

Did you actually read my post regarding the shredding and commercial interruptions on the "My Network" airings...I appreciate your thoughts but it clearly shows that you didn't even read my thoughts but replied to them....
