Great win by my birds today. Mike, get ready for the Meadowlands (or the Ghettolands as I call it), brother!!!! Enjoy the game next week, shame you couldn't make the trip to Minnesota this week. Anyways.

Eagles established a mix. We didn't have A LOT of yards rushing but we mixed it up, instead of passing it 80-85% of the game, we rushed it enough to keep the pressure off of Donovan. I'd like to give a shout out to the 2 main Vikings fans on the sports boards here. Your guys gave 110% against us and fought until the end. An unexperienced, young, rookie QB in Tavaris Jackson impressed me very much. He threw a couple of screen plays and kept the Vikings in it, when he has been bad mouthed and talked down on, ever since he came into the league. He took his shots, converted on 3rd down, efficiently and got as much yards as possible until the end.

Special Teams today were excellent for the birds. D Jackson had over 100 yards on kick and punt returns, with one being a 60 yarder. Nice Job Desean. No fumbles or stupidity today, and you gave us a lot of yards when we needed it. Akers was a beast kicking it. He was kicking 60 yarders before the game and all his FGs he kicked with relative ease. He looked confident and good in a dome playoff game. Rocca had a nice game too, pinning the Vikings young offense back in their zone.

Defense was fantastic. Besides the 40 yard rushing TD by Peterson, I give them an A- for today's game. Pick 6 TD for Asante!!!

Sheldon Brown dropped a couple of INTs lol but he played great, along with Dawkins, Cole, Quintin Mikell, Stewart Bradley & Akim Jordan.

Offense- Donovan played great. Besides the INT, which they should of ran the ball anyway, on a 3rd and 2, he was fabulous. 300 yards passing, 23 for 34, a 71 TD pass to Westbrook & great pocket presence and throws.

Westbrook was effective enough. Not a lot of running yards, but a combined 121 yards running & catching, in the game. Desean Jackson had a great game overall, catching the ball and on special teams. Jason Avant made smart, athletic plays and I realize now, why we miss Kevin Curtis on offense, after he was out for a few weeks to start the season.

Coaching- Andy was smart. The ONLY thing that pissed me off was after we scored the final TD, we should of went for 2. It was 22-14 then, before the PAT, and 2 points would of made the game an even 10 point match, with the Eagles leading. If Minnesota had scored, it would of been 23-21 and they could of won it with a GW FG. They didn't, and going for 2 wouldn't of hurt at all. I just don't understand Andy overall and on some occasions.

Any who, it was a great game, we won and I'm happy

Andy Reid is now 7-0 in opening playoff games in his career.

Game Balls for the Eagles-

Offense- Donovan McNabb- 23/34, 300 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Defense- Brian Dawkins & Asante Samuel

and on Special Teams- all 3 players were OUTSTANDING

akers
rocca
& D Jack

One more thing, Asante, take it TO THE HOUSE MY FRIEND!!! ;). Go Eagles. Next week, Sunday @ 12-1 pm vs. the Giants at the Meadowlands

My thoughts:

1. Contrary to what you think, Tavaris Jackson was, IMO, a deer caught in the headlights. I think they should have gone back to Frerotte, who went 9-3 as starter.

2. I now know why Philly spent all that money on Asante Samuel- he can make one big play

3. IMO, it wouldn't have mattered whether the Vikings or Bears won the NFC North. Even if Philly had to go back to Chicago again, the outcome would have been the same.

So far this is the only playoff game in which the team I wanted to win won.

Towards the end he did, because they were losing at the end, so it was pressure, and we were putting a lot of pressure on him, with each dropback. He converted 6/9 3rd Downs at one point and was throwing the ball nice. The first half he didn't have a bad game.

He had a Passer rating of 45.3, but I think he did better then that. Same with Donovan, he almost converted 68 percent of his passes today for the Eagles, had a 71 yard TD and threw for 300 yards and only had a 92.9 PR, probably because of the pick, but STILL.

Great game though.

I wish GM stop thinking just because a QB is black he is GOOD.

Who recruited T. Jackson? All they saw was his black skin and thought he was another Michael Vick or Mcnabb

That would be Childress. He thought he could turn him into another McNabb. Jackson did have a really good senior year passing the ball in college, but it was with a division 2 school...so yeah, he hasn't really panned out. Neither has Childress as a coach.

Solomon, IMO, that smacks of racism.

To me, that is a pretty insulting.

I will be greeting the team on saturday at the team hotel!!!...This will be a joyous week, but a very pressure packed stress filled one as well!!!!! This is what it is all about...

By the way I was 4-0 in my picks this week... Usually I refrain from picking my game, but I broke my own rule today.... I will not pick that game next week... I am to superstitious

To be fair, if not for Mitchell, Philly doesn't make an NFC Title game.

Remember 4th and 26?

 I honestly don't know, am thinking that myself lol.

Speaking of TPIR and sports, anybody remember Bob Barker being/making a cameo in the Adam Sandler sport movie Happy Gilmore?? LOL

"The price is WRONG, Bobby (fight then occurs." Hilarious.
