I will only be around for the first game because I need full concentration when the Eagles are on-lol

So will the Dolphins and Vikings also play with a CHIP on their shoulder like the two home teams yesterday since they are also UNDERDOGS???

I've looked at the history of the teams who are in the playoffs as to the wild card and it's pretty interesting.

Somtimes it's the away teams that win all four or 3 games. Sometimes it's the home team.

I think they are the hottest team in the NFC right now. The Vikings better game plan against Westbrook.

Being a hot team doesn't matter all the time.

Look at what happened to the Colts- 9-game winning streak and Peyton winning league MVP, and what did that get them? One-and-done.

Not that hot because they just lost to the skins two weeks ago, on the ROAD. Their last week was at home.

Vikings can give themselves a chance by holding on to the ball. But they probably still lose

I think a lot of Eagles fans were fooled by that 44-6 over Dallas for a few reasons

1.Dallas was not a good road team, 3-5
2. Dallas has a turnover prone QB
3.Dallas turned over the ball 4 times that led to 24 pts

How often does a defense get to contribute 24 points?-lol

It may not mean anything but I'm just saying

Solomon, in a playoff game, even if they were on the 1, you take the points. I learned from this, being an Eagles fan. The Eagles went for it on 4th down vs. the Bears and got stuffed once again, even if they used the same damn play all 4 times. And additionally, this is a playoff game. You take the points and the lead early and put your great defense out their.

This is something you will learn as you going to watch the NFL. In a do or die game, you cant play it SAFE because there are no more games if you lose. FG's don't help you win the game they set you up to lose the game. If they had went for it they would have surprised the hell out of the ravens defense and scord. And since the score is 0-0 why not take a gamble? I mean if the Dolphins were losing 13-0 of course i would kick a FG but in the beginning of a do or die game you have to play to win,

I don't know if you've watched many Vikings games this year, but Frerotte has been mind-blowingly bad.

Tarvaris Jackson on the other hand, has 8 TD passes to just 1 interception since replacing Frerotte. I don't see how they could possibly go back to Gus after the way he has played the last few weeks.

You go for the TD if you're down. If you have the ball first, and their's no score, you try for it or kick a FG and go up, and let your defense take care of the rest.

If it was inches, I would of Quarterback sneaked it. But it wasn't.

Ravens just tied it at 3-3, so it's basically 0-0 again

Well I think every QB is going to throw an INT, regular season or not. Waterston Fan remembers Tom Brady had 2 interceptions and a bad game in the championship game last year vs. San Diego, and still won. I think if you play well regardless, bounce back and don't remember the INTs and bounce back- like Kurt Warner does, you'll be fine. I think a loss is worst in a playoff game then a INT but that's just me. Plus, the Ravens have a superior, killer defense. Donovan McNabb threw 4 INTs against them. I think they had 5 INTs that game, with the Ed Reed 106 return for a TD off of Kevin Kolb lol. But anyway, Donovan is the best at not throwing TDs and is up top the list in not throwing ones, and he had 4 that game. Point is, a great D wins games and can beat anybody, given pressure and time.

Well, it's over. Congrats to the Eagles fans, the Vikings hung in there a little longer than I expected.

Thank you sir. You are a classy NFL fan.
Vikings are a great team. TJ impressed the hell out of me today. Our blitzing d got him at the end, but besides that and the ASANTE INT, he impressed the hell out of me, and did very well, in a playoff game, especially for a young, inexperienced QB. So look forward to that. I'm glad we knocked down AP, besides the 40 yard run and established the mix of pass and run. I will be giving my thoughts on the game, like Mike does each week, win or loss for the Eagles.

Cheers to a well-fought, great game by the Vikings. You fought hard and stayed in the game until the end.

The Eagles had an abysmal day running and STILL WON?!

Wreckless- consider yourself mighty lucky!

We're not a running team Chris, how does that shock you? lol. No we kicked their ass and won. I consider ourself good. But we've got to win next week at NY. Let's get it!

Great game and congrats to all the Eagles fans here, I'm disappointed the Vikings lost but I'm glad the Vikings made a game out of it, good luck against the Giants next week!

Thank you. Another classy (Minnesota) fan. You guys fought hard until the end. Be proud, loss or win. Great game, fought until the end. I am impressed by both teams.

I wanted the Cards, Dolphins, Vikings, and Chargers to win...but only the Chargers and Cards won.

For the Division...

Cardinals over Panthers
Giants over Eagles
Titans over Ravens (AKA-The REAL Browns)
Chargers over Steelheads

Well I don't know about that. Maybe you're thinking of an exact play lol. We're great at the screen passing plays, which are passes, but are almost like a run. Maybe that's what you're thinking of, cause we're horrible at running. We have 2 great, versatile running backs in Westy & Buc Buc, but we are a predominant passing team/offense. We'll see though. We do better when we mix pass and run, like we did today I think. Hopefully we can have as much success overall next week vs. the Midgets.

Btw, some ******* asked Donovan about if he'll be in Philly next year. Huh? lol. We're in the playoffs right now. Since that blasting in Baltimore- which doesn't seem so bad now, given how good the Ravens are- McNabb has played well for the most part, other than a few mistakes in D.C.

Yeah I agree. Even the DC game, he had like 8 dropped passes that game. But everything (including negatives) aside, I hope we prepare well and come out ready to play in NY next week. Asante said he loves to play in the cold and can't wait for it. D Jackson had some crazy clothes on after the game. Stylin with the sheep coat.

No, not really.

an 8-8 team is LUCKY. They shouldn't be in the playoffs.

Hey, maybe if Tampa Bay and the Bears win the last game, we wouldn't be in the playoffs either, but we fought and clawwed our way in. We weren't dismal and had a winning record. I have nothing against the Chargers but you are making it a vendetta with comments, that aren't even true, like that. We have done nothing to you or the Chargers to spark a negative reaction or response!

But I love the hate, and so the Birds. We bask in it, like cologne .

Congrats Wreckless and mriggles! The Vikings defense surprised me, had the Eagles on it's heels, but that Westbrook td is what put the game out of reach.

Thanks Mike, appreciate it.

They ran for only 67 yards. That isn't going to cut it.

Heck, the Arizona Cardinals ran for more yards than Philly!

The Eagles live and die by McNabb, plain and simple.

They are the team that will NEVER GO AWAY! THEY DON'T DIE!

Once again, WE ARE NOT A RUNNING TEAM.

But I agree with you on the rest. We are not perfect or the best team, but we still have the fight in us, each year.

Why is everyone saying the eagles are lucky? The Eagles won the game fair & square.. they did what they had to do to win! Kudos to the Eagles!

Thank you sir.

Because they didn't seem to have a running game. If you take away that pass to Westbrook, McNabb didn't do too well.

we are not a running team...

the Eagles are a passing team, a team that very much favors the pass, and on the pass, we had 300 yards this game. I am not worried.

So what that they ran for 67yds. If they ran for 1yd they still won. Good teams find a way to win no matter what.

1 vs. 6 Titans vs. Ravens
2 vs. 4 Steelers vs. your Chargers

1 vs. 6- Giants vs. Mike & I's Eagles
2 vs. 4- Panthers vs. the Cardinals

Ramona's favorite team!! ^^

Just kidding bf ;)

but yeah, great games next week. I love the playoffs, especially when my team/the Eagles are in it and are playing well too.

Didn't mean to come off as a Vikings fan.

I can't tell you how hard it is to not jump ahead and talk about the AFC Championship game that some Charger fans are already talking about as to getting it here against the Ravens.. Yikes..

Maybe as the days pass, it will be easier to not get into the hype.

I don't know who originally said this but as Marty Schottenhimer once said, 'one game at a time'.

Very true. Honestly, I was in the crowd of picking Atlanta to win, but not because I hate, despise or don't believe in Arizona. I just plain out thought that Atlanta would win with Matt Ryan, and they didn't.

I didn't say they would crush the Cards, just picked them to win, but here ya go Chris.

I know it's the internet but it came off as you being angry in the post, even without/if you didn't use all caps, which usually signals anger or a sense of displeasing.

But anyway. Gotta factor in Brandon Jacobs being healthy and in the game, for next week's Giants-Eagles game & matchup. Only because he wasn't in the first game between the two at the Meadowlands, and Eagles won. Let's see if we can punch them in their midget mouths and win, even with Jacobs in the lineup, or in the game for that matter.

Here's a true story- I had scheduled a date with a girl many years ago in December 1996, and it coincided a few days after my Bills lost a home playoff game to the at-the-time second year Jacksonville Jaguars.

I still went on that date.

Playoff losses hurt, but life goes on.

Myself, Ramona, and Wreckless have all seen our teams lose Super Bowls, and we moved on with our lives.

The only loss I REALLY got pissed, and actually got upset in the upset fashion, in the playoffs recently was in 2006 in the divisional round vs. the Saints.

Chris, we already discussed how I feel on that game between the Eagles and NO, if you can remember. It sparked a small disagreement but it's all good; I DID eventually and obviously move on like you mention lol.

Speaking of Andy's beard, maybe Norv should start wearing glasses during the playoffs.

lol-why?!! Is he having trouble seeing the field, or is it a joke that's he horrible in calling plays? lol...

That's true and different people handle losses and games different-lol- but then again, if you had a chick, I will not be rude but I will leave it at, if she wants to, you have something to help you cope with or feel better and forget about the loss lol.

I remember that, but I don't want to rehash old feelings. Besides, that was when I barely knew you.

One thing I will say about it- I honestly think that Solomon would have been more likely to say that than you would.

I know what you mean and where you're coming from, but it's what I was feeling totally and at the time on the boards, along with thinking about that game, after it was finished that day and week. It's water under the bridge now and yeah It was when we barely knew each other before the boards. Shoot, it was before I knew you, Ramona or Mike/mriggles, at least to a personal and friendly level.

Anyways, I think the two teams, speaking of them generally, play next season. I think it's in NO but I'm not sure. I hope it's in Philly. Those 2 games the one year were BOTH in NO, but to be fair, the one game was because they clinched a playoff berth and home field, and we had happened to play them as a lower seed in the postseason that year. What do you think will be the scores of both NFC playoff games next week? Predictions?

I checked. The game is in Philly.

First time Saints will visit there was December 1993, which had a wind chill of 12 below zero.

Oh nice, thanks for checking on that.

Damn, that's some crazy weather!!!!!!

But I will love and enjoy the game in Philly come next year. Speaking of the two again, the playoff matchup I mentioned 3 years ago; do you remember that Sheldon Brown hit, or slam if you will, on Reggie Bush in the backfield?

Man, it's amazing how busy this board gets when I am asleep! This thread was dead in the evening.
