Has anyone else noticed that in later episodes Mr. Drysdale and Miss Jane will be driving in through the gate in one make / model of a car only to pull up in front of the mansion in a completly differant one!

I am sure this must have been when they were not allowed to do location filming anymore.

Has amyone seen any other things I may not have noticed?

I have noticed that in a handful of episodes. I'm sure it's related to the fact that they could no longer film in front of the Kirkeby Mansion after the third season, and could only use the fake mansion set at Filmways for "exterior" footage. While I don't have the specific episodes to share, I remember seeing a '62 Dodge Dart pull through the front gates of the actual mansion, only to see a '64 Dodge pull up in front of the mansion set. The same is true of Imperials: a stock shot of a '62 Imperial coming into the grounds of the Kirkeby Mansion, followed by a '63 or '64 Imperial (same color) pulling up in front of the mock set of the house. Seems a but sloppy, especially since Detroit's annual model change was a ritual through the early '70s and car nuts of the era would catch the switch immediately.

Your right but I don't think they thought anyone would catch it since there were no re-winds with network TV.
Also I think they made a very poor choice in stunt doubles the lady who doubles for Granny in the motorcycle riding scenes and the fight with the "Giant Jackrabbit" can clearly be seen as someone other the Irene Ryan!
Anyone else have any thoughts on this subject?

Mrdata, yeah i have noticed that stunt double many times especially now that you can pause/rewind and you said. I just choose to laugh and ignore...haha As I understand it the guy who did the stunt doubles for Irene Ryan during the series is still alive his name is Jerry Brutsche (just a fun fact)...

That's neat I never knew it was a man doubling her I thought it was a woman thanks for sharing this.

I noticed the stunt double, never bothered me though. I also just laughed at it. I did notice during the Thanksgiving scene with the Turkey that shook hands you could tell it was not real, instead of the turkey putting its foot down it was like someone was pulling it back.

Remember the scene in the kitchen between Granny and the "vicious" dog ? In the scenes where they showed just the dog, close up, they showed his mean growl with his teeth. But in the scenes where you can see both Granny and the dog, the dog seemed happy, wagging its tail !

I remember seeing a scene in one of the color episodes once-I forget which one-where Jethro was in the parlor and somebody knocked at the door. When he walked out to answer it and he came out of the parlor, he was wearing a different shirt!

Thanks for alerting us to the driving up discrepancies. The driving scenes made use of stock footage -- and the primary reason for that, I'm certain, was to save money!

It's very common, such as the Batmobile arriving at police headquarters on the sixties Batman series or Clark Kent's car on Adventures of Superman outside the Daily Planet. These series would have gone way over budget if they shot every scene "new."

I've looked closely at the stunts for Granny and I think they did a good job of concealing the face of the double. IMO, the stunt doubles used on some other series like Bonanza were more obvious.
