It's been so long since the first releases. I'm guessing they didn't sell well, and plans for the remaining seasons to be released have been cancelled?

Now that First Look is done with The Cosby Show on DVD, you'd think we'd see A Different World continue on DVD.

I do hope we see FirstLook start it back up, though. It's really hard to be patient!

I am hoping and praying they release the remaining seasons too. I have been online almost all day trying to find anyone who has all of the seasons. All I could find was the first season to purchase, and that really sucks :( If anyone has them recorded (off of TV) in good condition (not like the ones I found on the most popular video site for example) I would be willing to TRADE (not buy for fear of being ripped off like others on this board) for the complete series of What I Like About You, or 6 seasons of Weeds minus one episode in season 6. If you can help me out, let me know, thanks! :)

anyway, in 2012 it will be the 25th anniversary of ADW, it's almost 2011 (1 month from now...), if enough fans gather trough an online petition to encourage casey-warner or who else the rights on this show to release it because we want to buy and not download from a popular video website... i am pretty sure they can do the same as they did with the entire series o The Cosby Shgow released as boxed set dvds for its 25th anniversary...

if anyone want to start this campaign like Obama 08 and change the status-Quo @ casey-Warner i am willing to help with anything setting up a blog to strategizing over online viral campaign...

The official reason behind there not being anymore DVD sets (https://transgriot.blogspot.com/2008/09/wheres-a-different-world-season-2-6.html) is because the one for Season 1 sold poorly (https://madamenoire.com/571627/throwback-thursday-the-very-best-of-a-different-world/). It's quite easy to see why. Many fans of ADW believe that the show didn't really start to hit its stride (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/ADifferentWorld) (and not just be an extension of The Cosby Show) until Season 2.

I've always suspected the reason no more seasons have been released is because seasons 2-5, the theme is sung by Aretha Franklin; the rights cost would be extremely high.

Aretha also sung the theme for Grace Under Fire and when that series came to DVD, they used the syndicated version not Aretha's.
