Kodak has done it! They bash Hewlett Packard by name in their new commercial for inkjet printers!!!!!!!!!!! The commercial is for Kodak ESP-3. They say, 'Hewlett Packard is ripping people off with thier printers! We are saving people money.!" They show a Hewlett Printer, and put the price, "179.99" under it. then the show the Kodak ESP 3 and say, 99.99. *Picks up nail files, and files nail file, waiting for Hewlett Packard to take serious offense and sue for libel and slander.*

there's nothing slanderous or illegal about saying that something is overpriced. it's an opinion. suing them over it would probably be a violation of first amendment rights.

I don't think there would be a lawsuit.

In this day and age it wouldn't surprise me to see a lawsuit.

I was curious and looked up the definition for libel and slander and both have to do with making a false claim. Assuming the prices in the ad are correct, Kodak can't be sued for truthfully saying that their products cost less.

exactly. an example of slander or libel would be saying that another company's products are laced with poison, or that the CEO is a child rapist, when it isn't true. hewlett packard could TRY to file a lawsuit over an opinion, but the case would be thrown out because it would simply be a violation of american rights.

Yeah, I'm sure saying, "Hewlett Packard is RIPPING people off" will give Hewlett Packard that warm, fuzzy, loving feeling toward KODAK!!!!!!!!!!!!

they may not like it, but it doesn't give them a right to sue. any lawsuit that infringes on someone's legal rights is illegitimate.

they can claim anything they want, but its really like comparing apples to Studebakers.
