View Full Version : Crazy Day In Football
Wreckless 12-28-2008, 11:25 PM Lions lose to Green Bay, are 0-16 for the season. NO WINS, and the first team to lose 16 games in one season, ever.
Jets miss the playoffs, with a loss to the Dolphins.
Dolphins win the AFC East Division; with their win over the Jets.
Pats miss the playoffs, even with a 23-0 shutout win over Buffalo today.
Eagles and Dallas square off at 4:15 today. Philly was up 44-3 at one point and wins easily, 44-6 over the rival, but superbowl bound Cowboys. Eagles make the playoffs, and earn the 6th and final playoff spot in the NFC, as the second Wild Card spot.
Dallas with the (horrible) loss, misses the playoffs. Now they haven't won a playoff game in what will be at least 13 seasons, since 1996.
Drew Brees of the Saints loses, but also falls only 15 yards short of passing Dan Marino's single season passing yards record of 50,000+ yards in an individual season.
San Diego is on their way, leading 38-13 over the Broncos in the 3rd quarter, to a division win, playoff appearence and spot in the playoffs after a 4-8 start this season.
The Bears lose a crucial game, and the division, with a 31-24 loss to the eventual 8-8 Houston Texans today, and give up the final playoff spot, along with TB, to the Eagles.
-Tampa Bay loses a shocking game. 17 point favorites vs. a dismal, horrible, inexperienced and young Raiders team, even without an Al Davis today, 31-24. Tampa Bay misses the playoffs and loses 4 straight games in their season, after at one point, having an incredible record of 9-3 for the season.
The Baltimore Ravens make the playoffs, with an impressive 27-7 narrow win over Jacksonville, with rookie QB Joe Flacco and coach John Harbaugh this season.
Craziness today!!! Chat, thoughts etc...
mriggles 12-28-2008, 11:36 PM Well at least solomon can enjoy the fact the lions were 0-16  I knew sonny would congratulate us, but where is solomon????????????????
Will I have to make a thread LOOKING FOR HIM???????? He even sent me a facebook message saying DIE EAGLES DIE!!!!! LOL OH HOW SWEET IT IS
Big C 12-28-2008, 11:37 PM Jags, IMO, are the biggest disappointment in football.
At least Dallas had a winning record. Jacksonville couldn't beat the Browns or Bengals!
Wreckless 12-28-2008, 11:41 PM Mike, make a thread looking for her, calling him out, DO IT! lol.
And FSU, while I agree the Jags are a big disapointment, I am changing my vote. Dallas is by far the biggest disapointment of the season.
Picked by nearly every NFL analyst or commentator to be in the super bowl, and win it, they had so many Pro Bowlers this year and last year but they have NO heart whatsoever. They were supposed to go 11-5, 12-4 or 13-3. Instead they went 9-7, missed the playoffs, no super bowl, no super bowl win. When instead, everybody had them winning the division, getting the top seed and advancing, once they got a possible buy week, once the playoffs started. But in reality, NOTHING for them. A QB who is ok, but has a great arm, good wideouts, a great, young receiving and running back core and a tough minded, smash mouth, real good defense. They even had a real good special teams with Nick Folk and Felix Jones returning kicks. They ARE by far the biggest dissapointment, no doubt about it.
Wreckless 12-28-2008, 11:43 PM And to be fair, we couldn't beat the Bengals, yet we didn't lose, and the Giants barely beat the Bengals, and couldn't beat the Browns.
Jags= big dissapointment
Dallas= CHOKE
They belong next to the '06 and '07 Muts, I mean Mets, of baseball lol...giving us the playoff spot and chance, like the Mets gave the Phillie the two division wins, and eventually, what would be a ring and a championship in Philly....do I see another pattern with what Dallas did or didn't do Sunday? Hmm we'll wait and see on that one...

He has no heart, like the Mets & Cowgirls...No offense, but he won't step up to accept a (big) loss, a blowout loss and a defeat for a playoff spot, especially since it was to the Eagles. Yet if Dallas won, you know he would have 10 threads not shutting up about it, if that were the case. Let's see if the weasel pops up tomorrow morning.

Solomon Will show, he is a good guy, But it will be interesting to see if he says congrats to us... Not even he can make an excuse for this one!!!! but if I know him...He is right now probably on the phone calling out sick for tomorrow

Wreckless, please be careful with what you say. I don't want you getting into trouble with SO's moderators.

I understand but what did I say so bad, directed towards him? I don't think anything, but thanks for the concern. I know I called him a weasel, but that's not bad or a bad word. Let's see if he shows up, I will say.

I don't know about that, maybe he's nice to you but not to me or my teams. I know you follow the Eagles, but I follow all 4 sports, and religiously. And he talks constant crap about them. A lot of times when those 4 teams win a big game, like last night with the Eagles, or the championship like the Phillies did, he still talks crap, doesn't give credit, and he does this every time, and not just with the Phillies or Eagles. But if his team wins or if my team loses, he's quick to call them dumb@$$es, make 10 threads about it and talk crap. It's only one side with him. I hate Dallas and the Mets but mostly with Dallas I can admit if they are a great team. Dallas has a GREAT team right now, no heart but they have a good team on paper, just they don't execute. It's not that hard to say. It's just deciding what you want to say, and what you don't wanna say. I figured out, I don't need to curse somebody out or call them names, to get my point across in general, or about them.
mriggles 12-29-2008, 04:45 PM if he doesn't show he loses all credibility in my eyes
catlover79 12-29-2008, 04:47 PM Another disappointing year for the Browns.
Waterston_Fan 12-29-2008, 05:17 PM Another disappointing year for the Browns.
No, really?
They should just get rid of the Browns and Lions for being such bad teams.
Big C 12-29-2008, 05:27 PM giving us the playoff spot and chance, like the Mets gave the Phillie the two division wins, and eventually, what would be a ring and a championship in Philly....do I see another pattern with what Dallas did or didn't do Sunday?
I'm a bit iffy.
Phillies and Cubs were the two best N.L. teams this year; I'm a bit skeptical about the Eagles.
They're a Jekkyl-and-Hyde team, IMO.
MrCleveland 12-29-2008, 05:45 PM Another disappointing year for the Browns.
Savage and Crennel got kicked-off Steamers (Browns) Island and now at the Unemployment Line after 4 years of losing!
And now...I'm Da Bears Fan!
Scoobiedoo30 12-29-2008, 06:30 PM yes today has been a crazy day in Football.
catlover79 12-29-2008, 09:49 PM Yeah, I wasn't expecting too much from the Browns this year, but I didn't think it would be THAT bad. Then again, this is Cleveland. :o
