Lauren Velez, aka Lt. Maria Laguerta on Showtime's Dexter, will appear on ABC's Ugly Betty later this season in a multi-episode story arc, says the Reporter.

Though details on her role are few, Velez will play Elena, a nurse that enters the lives of the Suarez family ... and, most mysteriously, is tied to a plot twist that might involve the death of a major character.
