View Full Version : The Feel Good Department (Part 2) Janice 12-26-2008, 01:03 AM Christmas is over, and I feel good. ;) Brad Russ 12-26-2008, 03:32 AM I feel good because today my friend Preston introduced me to his nephew Todd Linden, who is a professional baseball player. He is currently a free agent, but in the past he has played for the LA Dodgers, Florida Marlins, and Oakland, and Cleveland's minor league teams. He was up on Preston's roof shoveling snow, which made me chuckle since it's not everyday you see a professional athlete shoveling snow for someone. He was a really nice guy, and it made my day meeting him. Look for him to be playing again very soon. He's too good not to. catlover79 12-26-2008, 09:15 AM I'm still reveling in the news that I'm going to be an aunt again, come July. None of us saw this coming , so it really was a surprise!! :D MickeyMac 12-26-2008, 05:06 PM Christmas is over, and I feel good. ;) Same here MickeyMac 12-26-2008, 05:09 PM I like the freedom that we have on this board to post whats on our mind, and to be treated with respect by others even if they dont agree with what we say.:) catlover79 12-26-2008, 05:45 PM ^ :yeahthat catlover79 12-27-2008, 12:37 AM I had to take my car in this morning to have the muffler looked at (NOT at Midas, of course ). Thank goodness, it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be and isn't going to cost nearly as much as I expected. Thank goodness!! My brother had the day off, so I ended up driving his car to work today. littlebelle 12-27-2008, 04:41 AM I feel good because I have the weekend off from work :D yay. Jonathan 12-27-2008, 07:06 PM CMT is airing a block of Mama's Family tonight! :woohoo: Jonathan 12-28-2008, 05:48 PM CMT is airing a block of Mama's Family tonight! :woohoo: :yeahthat :D Courtnee 12-28-2008, 10:30 PM I have a date with my boyfriend tomorrow. :D Brad Russ 12-28-2008, 10:53 PM I'm happy because I finally got back with Netflix, and am able to watch movies again!! Infact, I'm watching a movie online right now. :D Wreckless 12-28-2008, 11:01 PM Feelin great. Finally had Christmas down my Dads, tonight with my Dad, brother, Grandmother and I. Oh, and our crazy pets (2 cats and a dog) lol. I've went to bed really early the last 2 nights, and I plan to go to bed tonight really early as well. Last night, I fell asleep around 8:30 pm and I got up at 3:30 in the morning and stayed up. So I got my 7 1/2/ 8 hours of sleep in the weirdest but earliest way lol. Grandfather is back and doing well, after being in the hospital for 4 days. Real good weekend. Got ahold of Sony and I'm sending my computer out to get fully fixed, whenever they send me the package to fix up and send out the laptop! can't wait to get it back. still on Christmas break- good stuff. Eagles win big, 44-6 vs. Dallas, earn a playoff spot and keep Dallas out of the playoffs as well. :) Hope everybody had a fabulous weekend! Wreckless 12-28-2008, 11:01 PM I feel good because I have the weekend off from work :D yay. Enjoy the time off ;) Holly 12-30-2008, 12:14 PM I feel good because it's getting closer to new years and I can see my boyfriend and my parents are coming back home soon! ;) Chocoholic 12-30-2008, 12:16 PM I feel good because I have a few days off from work and I'm going out to lunch with my good friend. Janice 01-05-2009, 05:30 AM I went to CVS last night. The bill was $26.65. All we had to pay was 65 cents. We had coupons upon coupons, CVS extra value bucks, you name it. It was great. :D catlover79 01-06-2009, 02:22 AM I ran into my former Girl Scout leader, whom I hadn't seen in YEARS, tonight at Best Buy. I went to school with her daughter, who was also in the troop, as was my sister. We had quite a nice chat. I felt like I was in middle school again (in a good way). :D MonarC 01-09-2009, 03:10 PM Im just glad to be alive. Almost losing someone close to you will make you realize how precious life is. Have a great day everyone! Brad Russ 01-10-2009, 04:41 AM I'm appreciative to my best friend Janice for an email she sent me the other day. I was feeling really insecure and upset at a few things, and she really genuinely took the time to make me feel better, and showed that she really cared. Before getting the email I felt close to going crazy, but after, I was calm, and went to sleep with a smile on my face. :) Janice has proven once again why she's such a special person in my life, and I value your friendship like you'll never know. Thank you my friend for being there for me during my weakness, and putting me to sleep with a big :D that night!!!    catlover79 01-10-2009, 11:45 PM That's so sweet, Brad. :D Hope you're doing OK and are safe with all that flooding going on. I'm usually never more than a phone call or a PM away. I'm just glad that you're back in all our lives. Brad Russ 01-11-2009, 12:52 PM That's so sweet, Brad. :D Hope you're doing OK and are safe with all that flooding going on. Awwww, thanks Monika!!! Fortunately we've been pretty lucky, but the same sadly can't be sad for all Oregonians. They're comparing this to the floods of 9'6 where they say over 600 landslides were reported. Fortunately, it hasn't gotten that bad yet, but we're keeping our fingers crossed, and hoping for the best. Brad Russ 01-11-2009, 12:59 PM Brad, I'm glad I was there when you needed me. I'm usually never more than a phone call or a PM away. I'm just glad that you're back in all our lives. Thanks again Janice. I just need to learn to pick up a damn phone from time to time and make a call. For some reason my whole family sucks at that, which Is probably why we never see each other despite being in such close proximity. Anyway, I'm glad to have you back in my life, and to have many other S.O.er's back in my life as well!! PZelda 01-11-2009, 03:27 PM Awwww, thanks Monika!!! Fortunately we've been pretty lucky, but the same sadly can't be sad for all Oregonians. We're in the middle of the snowiest winter I've seen since I was a kid (1996-97, as well). So far, we've gotten 54" of snow and it's not even mid-January yet. 1996-97 recorded 101"+ of snowfall, and meteorologists up here are pretty sure we're going to be breaking that record. The ND/MN border is a major river... The Red River. In the spring of 1997, all the snow melted really quickly and caused the town of Grand Forks (ND) to flood, big-time. Other border towns were flooded too, but GF was hit the hardest. Word on the streets is that a Red River flooding is very possible this spring - and it'll be Fargo (ND) getting hit the hardest this time, not Grand Forks. I hope that's not the case in your neck of the woods! Sheesh. This winter is shattering SO MANY records. Holy crap. No wonder the rest of the Country always says: "what are you Oregonians complaining about, look what we have to deal with". lol! So far things aren't looking as bad as first anticipated for us, but with so much Winter left, and the wacky weather the Nation's been getting lately, who really knows what's going to happen. I just hope things don't get much worse in your neck of your woods!!! It seems pretty bad right now, and with so much Winter left, like I said, who the heck knows what's in store. Regardless, just keep as safe as possible, and know that your family, and your neck of the woods will be in my prayers. I definitely wish you the best Allison!! Be safe!!! PZelda 01-12-2009, 08:31 AM No kidding - right now, we're getting pummeled by a terrific blizzard. It has dumped about 6 more inches already on us so far with no end in sight. Well, for now... but another mass is moving towards us on the radar. And I spy another in Montana... Fabulous. I want to be somewhere sunny and warm, dammit! Hollow 01-25-2009, 02:53 AM i went to karaoke night and it was the most fun i've had in the longest time. i've waited YEARS for a chance to sing "heartbreaker" by pat benetar in public. there's nothing like singing your heart out with a crowd of strangers cheering you on the whole time. Brian Damage 01-25-2009, 05:38 PM  i put the stickers on my wall. they're adorable. here's the dress! Wow Sarah, you look absolutely stunning in that dress! Janice 01-25-2009, 06:36 PM I bought it eight years ago to wear to my stepdaughter's formal wedding. It's classic and will never go out of style. It cost almost $400, and I sent Sarah the drop rhinestone earrings that I bought to match. Those were $80. With that neckline, I had my hairdresser put my hair up. It's been worn five times. Twice by me, my niece wore it to two proms, and a friend wore it to a work Christmas party at the Hilton. It's high-quality. Anyone who knows anything about sequined clothes knows that there's a difference, and cheap sequins look cheap. I have no use for the dress, and it's been sitting in my closet for a couple of years now. I only wish I thought to send it to Sarah for her prom last year; however, I know she'll put it to good use with her singing career and most definitely to piss of her ex and his wife, lol. She looks beautiful in the gown. :) TripperFan 01-25-2009, 06:57 PM  i put the stickers on my wall. they're adorable. here's the dress! THAT and YOU are absolutely STUNNING in that dress Sarah! I can picture you in that for a concert with your hair up in a French Twist, and the earrings on....WOW - like something right off the red carpet. And you've got the figure to pull it off also! Janice had told me about that dress and how she thought you'd look beautiful in it. I totally agreed. Wear it in good health! (and hopefully ditch the light blue hightops with that one!) ;) Janice 01-25-2009, 07:33 PM THAT and YOU are absolutely STUNNING in that dress Sarah! PZelda 01-26-2009, 05:24 AM I can go down a belt size altogether now. :D A friend of mine is getting married in January of 2010, and I'm going to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. It makes me so happy when I think about how skinny I will be by then. :D Nighthawk76 01-26-2009, 02:44 PM This week is off to a great start!!!!!!!! :D TripperFan 01-26-2009, 04:03 PM ^ You can say that again! I had my white cell count tested and although it's low, it's not dangerously. I am still tired, but it's nice to know I still have some immune system working for me! Also, when I got back from the hospital my phone was ringing and it was for a job interview tomorrow morning! Yahoo! I sure need it too because my benefits run out this week. The timing would be absolutely perfect. :) TripperFan 01-26-2009, 04:04 PM I can go down a belt size altogether now. :D A friend of mine is getting married in January of 2010, and I'm going to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. You SEXAY THANG!!! ;) At the rate I've been going, I'll be at my goal weight by the summer! Yipee. :D So glad I bought my Wii Fit when I did (last summer!). Not just because it's perpetually sold out everywhere, but because it's such a damn good investment. A $90 one-time payment as opposed to, say, a $30/month membership to a gym. I've been using my Wii Fit a LOOOOOOOOOOT this winter because it's been insanely cold and I don't drive, so I'm not taking myself to a gym. Thanks! :D Nighthawk76 01-26-2009, 08:51 PM This week keeps getting better and better. I just recieved a phone call from a young woman I work with named Amy and she asked if I would like to go to the movies with her this Saturday. I said that I would! :D catlover79 01-26-2009, 10:02 PM ^ You can say that again! :) That's great, Cathie!! :bighug: catlover79 01-26-2009, 10:03 PM I can go down a belt size altogether now. :D A friend of mine is getting married in January of 2010, and I'm going to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. It makes me so happy when I think about how skinny I will be by then. :D Way to go, Allison!! You can do it!! :bighug: Janice 01-26-2009, 11:44 PM I bought this really cute purple coat. It's soooo soft! The original price was $129.00, but it was on sale for $38.70! :) The material feels like velvet. :D Nice going, Jenny. You are quite the bargain hunter. MickeyMac 01-27-2009, 01:12 PM Got my tax refund. Need to get some new tires and I want to get a few things. I have to be careful not to spend too much, or I will be talking about it in the complaint thread lol. catlover79 01-27-2009, 02:29 PM ^ Already? I just got my W2 yesterday. You're fast. TripperFan 01-27-2009, 05:09 PM  Oh lord. That is SO Sarah. Totally. :D It was Sarah's prom pic with those shoes that made me totally fall in love with her! That's the sort of thing I had always wanted to do, but just never had the nerve. And it IS so Sarah isn't it? That's how I always picture her....in a formal dress with sneakers - LOVE it! Those are pretty nice ones Janice suggested though! But only if it were a winter event of course! I know how much that dress meant to Janice, so it does show me she is the most generous, thoughtful person I've come across. Talk about "giving you the shirt off her back". A dress with that quality and design is timeless - something you hand down through time. Maybe one day we'll see Sarah's daughter wearing it! ;) TripperFan 01-27-2009, 05:12 PM This week keeps getting better and better. I just recieved a phone call from a young woman I work with named Amy and she asked if I would like to go to the movies with her this Saturday. I said that I would! :D WOW! You must be radiating something this week Mike! And if things go well in your dating life, it's always great to have your own apartment now!! ;) See girls - guys don't mind being asked out one bit! TripperFan 01-27-2009, 05:14 PM i love being loved. :) And don't ever think you aren't Sarah. This world wouldn't be the same without you! You're one in a million. :D MickeyMac 01-27-2009, 10:48 PM ^ Already? I just got my W2 yesterday. You're fast. I'm also poor so I had to move fast. catlover79 01-27-2009, 10:52 PM ^ You are both loved!! :bighug: catlover79 01-27-2009, 10:52 PM I'm also poor so I had to move fast. I hear that. *Pleasant Tomorrow* 01-28-2009, 01:20 AM So lately I've been stressing about my magazine writing class because it's filled with seniors and juniors who know what they're doing, intern at all these places, blah blah...not to mention it'll consist of talking to people *shudder* something people with social anxiety don't do well. ANYWAY...we had to write a fake query letter based on an article we read, and the professor read them anonymously in class. He read mine first, and these juniors and seniors...editor of the school paper, and some other really smart, know all communications girl, had such good things to say about what I wrote (one said I did something in my letter she wish should would have, but didn't). I was so pumped. There I've been sitting in that class feeling like an idiot, and these people are saying how good it was. I feel less dumb now. Yay. catlover79 01-28-2009, 01:23 AM ^ That's great news, Ashlee!! I know how hard speaking in front of others is, and it sounds like you did just fine. I'm proud of you. :D Janice 01-28-2009, 01:46 AM So lately I've been stressing about my magazine writing class because it's filled with seniors and juniors who know what they're doing, intern at all these places, blah blah...not to mention it'll consist of talking to people *shudder* something people with social anxiety don't do well. We need to phone chat this week. Sorry I didn't catch you over the weekend. I need to hear details, chick-a-dee. :D Janice 01-28-2009, 01:59 AM thanks for all the comments, everyone. :) And thank you for the beautiful thank you card, that brought tears to my eyes. You've matured into the warmest and wittiest young lady. :) Janice 01-28-2009, 02:01 AM I can go down a belt size altogether now. :D A friend of mine is getting married in January of 2010, and I'm going to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. It makes me so happy when I think about how skinny I will be by then. :D Yeah, it's nice to have a goal date, but from every picture I've seen of you, you never look like you need to lose weight. It's whatever makes you comfortable though. :) PZelda 01-28-2009, 04:12 AM Yeah, it's nice to have a goal date, but from every picture I've seen of you, you never look like you need to lose weight. It's whatever makes you comfortable though. :) Oh, trust me, I need to. I've always been healthy medical-wise. I mean, I do get sick and all that, especially since I had mono in 2006. Having mono has messed up my immune system. Used to be I'd get over a cold in a few days, now it can take me up to a month to shake it completely. But otherwise, I have perfect BP and great cholesterol. I went to Scheel's (regional sporting goods store found all over the Midwest) yesterday to find an one-piece swimsuit so I can take up swimming again. I had to read the sizing guides for Tyr and Speedo swimsuits. Both brands stopped at a size 40, but they had different pants sizes/swimsuit sizes that they stopped at. If you wear a size 13 or 14 in jeans, you'd need a size 40 Tyr swimsuit. It was 15/16 for a size 40 Speedo swimsuit. I tried on a size 40 Speedo suit, and couldn't get my legs through the suit, it was so tight! Tyr suits had resistance too, but was more forgiving. In the end, I went with a size 38L(arge) Tyr swimsuit, which I guess makes me about a pants size 11/12 at this point. I normally don't post a (mostly) full-body shot of myself online. If I do, I'm usually layered up or wearing a hoodie or whatever. But it definitely is obvious I have a fair amount of meat on me, so I shy away from wearing OMFGFORMFITTING clothing. However, with being a bridesmaid next year... Yep. I'm already FEELING good, but I want to also look super-duper awesome in what I know will be a form-fitting dress. But, thank you! :) Chocoholic 01-28-2009, 09:57 AM The good: Another snow day! :happyface The bad: One more day I have to work in June :( The really awful: More freakin' snow! But at least I got a day off today. :D Brian Damage 01-28-2009, 10:39 AM Can I be please be his SO Godmother? Of course Auntie Janice! TripperFan 01-28-2009, 01:25 PM I'm glad to hear about your immune system. They do come in handy. I'm sure mine is shot to shyt, lol. How did your interview go? I need to hear details, chick-a-dee. :D LOL - ya, it IS handy to have an immune system for sure! np - we'll get a chance to catch up on the phone. ;) Interview went well - a long one and then near the end she discovers she's interviewing me for a different position than what I applied to! lol Turns out it might be a better job, but they're not sure if they can meet my salary. She's going to speak to the VP today and let me know. At least if this one doesn't pan out, it should start the ball rolling. Usually once I get a hit on a resume, it comes in 3s (luckily)! I also owe you a MAJOR apology for missing your birthday. I'm so sorry - my head's been up my *$$ the past couple of weeks especially. luvs ya! *Pleasant Tomorrow* 01-28-2009, 04:56 PM I'm too lazy to quote lol, but thanks Janice and Monika. :) Hollow 01-28-2009, 06:30 PM And thank you for the beautiful thank you card, that brought tears to my eyes. Two Desperate Housewives DVDs from Netflix, and some nice freebies. A magazine, and some oversized samples of facial moisturer, shampoo and moisturizer. TripperFan 02-06-2009, 05:42 PM First of all, last night I went to the post office to pickup a parcel for me there and lo and behold, didn't Janice do it again! I got the most wonderful "care package" from her that I've still yet to thank her personally for (but hope to during a marathon phone call sometime over the weekend)! She sent me some oyster crackers (we can't get 'em up here anymore), a Dove bar (and I know there's something else hidden under there - just haven't unwrapped that parcel yet). Then nice stick antiperspirent (sp) that looks like it could make Matthew Mcconaughey smell good and assorted magazines that I'm really interested in! Especially the one with Fran Drescher and her pom on the cover!!! And like Sarah's parcel, mine was covered with all sorts of great stickers! She doesn't just send you something - the presentation alone is a gift! It gave me an idea for what I'm going to do to the parcel I'm going to send her next! Also - the U.S. Post Office is getting rich off of our Janice. I think we should take up a collection to help her out. If you can imagine, the box cost her $26 to send to me! Then, I had my 2nd job interview today. It went GREAT! The VP said, "Well, I'm Sold!". He just wants me to meet with him, the president and another VP who I'll be working closely with sometime next week. I whipped my thank you email off just before this. I know we'd get along great! He loves dogs - so right there he had me! LOL The recruiter thought they might not be able to meet my asking salary, but he had no problem giving me what I wanted, plus a couple of added perks (like getting benefits immediately) - and this is all after hearing that 135,000 Canadians lost their jobs in January alone. This is why I say, no matter how done I get sometimes, there is ALWAYS light just around the corner. You just have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get to it. Once it's happened a couple of times, it does get easier to accept each time it happens! Yay for me! :D ;) :happyface catlover79 02-06-2009, 05:44 PM ^ That's awesome, Cathie!! :bighug: HuntingtonM15 02-06-2009, 05:48 PM First of all, last night I went to the post office to pickup a parcel for me there and lo and behold, didn't Janice do it again! TripperFan 02-06-2009, 06:14 PM Wow, Janice is great!! :) But you can't get oyster crackers anymore?! WHAT is that about!? I know! I don't get it myself. I grew up with them in the 60s and into about the mid-70s - then WHAM! Off the market in Canada! Christies used to make them here - they came in a red box. I love them in tomato soup!! If you use regular soda crackers, you have to crunch em up and they go soggy really fast - these guys just float along on top there and if you want them softened, you just sink 'em! LOL My cats and dogs also love them. It really fries my back bacon that we can't get certain things here in Canada. When you ask, the company will tell you there's "not a big enough market" WTF is THAT all about? 33 million people isn't enough??? So yes - I've been reduced to getting them "contraband" It's like when I send asprin with codeine to my aunt in Texas - I wrap them and claim them as "salt & pepper shakers". We get them over the counter here, but it's by prescription in the U.S.. The only reason I send them is that I know they're for her only and she's a retired nurse so she knows what she's doing. TripperFan 02-06-2009, 06:15 PM Thanks Mike and Cat! It suuuure feels good! HuntingtonM15 02-06-2009, 06:27 PM I know! I don't get it myself. Yah - they're great - you dip them in peanut butter or cheese whiz and the pets go bananas for them! They could market them for that also - pets are a huge industry these days afterall! That's also why the Olive Garden closed here (or so we were told when we wrote to them). Never made any sense. There used to be lineups out the door both at lunch and dinner. When I worked close to one, I'd go there at least 3 times a week. We now have to make it a day trip over to Lewiston, New York to get to the nearest Olive Garden. And we've done it a couple of times. The border guards just look at us like we're nuts cuz when they ask, I usually go on a rant about products and services being discontinued up here. I've also hit Tops "Friendly Markets" when I've been in Buffalo to pick up other grocery items you can't get here. I've always been skeptical of people who hate animals. Not loving them is one thing, but when people HATE CATS, it sends up a red flag for me. I always say that anyone who hates cats has never lived with one. Personally, I was always a huge dog lover. Back in 1989, my husband and I were living in an apartment that didn't allow dogs, but did allow cats. I never had a cat growing up, just dogs. I figured, hey why not, I'll give it a try. I bought Foxy at a pet store on a Saturday afternoon, July 8, 1989. A beautiful Persian, a dead ringer for the Fancy Feast cat. Well, the joke was on me because for the next 16+ years, this furbaby took ownership of my heart, and never gave it back, even when he passed on in 1989. I bought two Persians after that, and I love them dearly; yet I learned that just like people, animals can't be replaced. Janice 02-21-2009, 03:47 PM I feel good today because Netflix delivered two top notch movies. We're getting Chinese take-out. It's cold today, 34 degrees, and a nice day to stay home, and not think about the next Wednesday, where at 2:45, I'm having an MRI in a closed machine, where I'll probably die of a heart attack from the anxiety. Today I feel good though, lol. catlover79 02-21-2009, 03:49 PM ^ Here is my dad with two of our babies, Jasmine and Molly. :D Janice 02-21-2009, 03:53 PM ^ Here is my dad with two of our babies, Jasmine and Molly. :D Wow, what a nice picture, Monika.
