Merry Christmas!

Read our story: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2008/12/merry-christmas-our-gift-to-you-is-rare.html

If you can think of a show I missed and would like to ask me if it is airing locally on television, please post on our message board. Please if the show is airing on cable, don't ask, since this is for local staitons only.

A couple of corrections--Under Gomer Pyle, KZSW is NOT in LA, they are licensed to the small desert town of Hemet (about 75 miles away) they are a low power station whose signal is not even close to getting into any SoCal major markets (except on a couple of cable systems). According to the schedule on their website, neither Gomer Pyle nor any other sitcom is airing on that station at the present time.

Also an addition: KVCR-TV (PBS) located in San Bernardino, California (AND which thankfully reaches most areas of the Los Angeles-Orange County area via cable and satellite) usually airs Ozzie and Harriet and Jack Benny between 8 and 9pm on Sunday nights. This is sometimes pre empted by PBS pledge drives and holiday specials.

Thanks for the update on KZSW. They were listed under the L.A. market. As for sitcoms, I have a grid that says Gomer airs weekdays at 10am, Hillbillies at 10:30am, Hogan's Heroes at 3pm, L&S at 3:30, Happy Days at 4, Brady Bunch at 4:30, and Mork & Mindy at 11pm. Do you get this station?

Thanks for the KVCR update. They aired the show in the "Ozzie & Harriet Remembered" umbrella, so I missed it.

DishManTV: I omitted Canada from the story. Plus DejaView and TV Land Canada are cable. I included THIS TV in the story.

The WTTV Indianapolis, marathon, was great. But a couple of notes: (1) Unfortunately, there must have been a mixup with Viacom, because what was undoubtedly supposed to be 2 Lucy Show Christmas episodes, was instead 2 I Love Lucy regular episodes. (2) The marathon also included a long lost Family Affair episode. (3) The episodes were played with closing credits/themes intact--unheard of these days.

Interesting stevea. Glad you got to watch the marathon! It seemed like a treat for classic TV fans. Thanks for the update!

Thank you very much -- it may be the best Christmas present I got! I was hoping someone would come up with a list like this.

You're Welcome. No I do not get KZSW, but I was just going by the schedule posted on their website. Would not be the first time that website listings for a low power station would be incorrect. I also have found by over the air monitoring that KDOC-TV Anaheim is not carrying THIS TV at the present time, I do not know why. BOO! HISS!!

Bewitched is currently airing locally on Me-TV (Chicago), well that is until maybe January 1st and/or 2nd.

Punky Brewster used to air on Me-TV (Chicago) back in 2005.

Flying Nun, The - was on there on and off Me-TV for awhile.

I was able to see the Christmas marathon that aired on WTXX. It first aired last Saturday, Dec. 20, and contained a couple more episodes than the one that aired Christmas Day. It was a great marathon. It was especially nice seeing The Lucy Show, as it's been years since that was on cable. Also, the version of the "Guess Who's Coming to Christmas" episode of Happy Days that aired was the one that featured the footage from 1976 with Fonzie setting up the story (including the line "Richie's brother Chuck was home from college...." It was the last time ever Chuck was even referenced on Happy Days, I believe). I'd only ever seen that intro once, on the Internet. Whenever Nick at Nite or TV Land aired that episode, they aired the original version.

As for shows not on cable but on local TV, since Hallmark Channel quickly dropped Cheers, I guess it unfortunately qualifies as a show no longer on cable. I don't know about other markets, but I know that in Connecticut it airs weeknights at 11:35 on WCTX, Channel 59. (It calls itself MyTV 9, as it's Channel 9 on most cable systems.)

Just a note of clarification. You listed KVOS as a Seattle station. KVOS is actually located in Bellingham, Washington.

The last time i saw Punky Brewster on TV was in or around 1997 on WSBK 38 in Boston, Massachusetts at like 3am or something...

Pav, why'd you post that "BURNS & ALLEN" is being shown on WHYY in Philidelphia? Because it's not. They showed 1 episode of it the monday before Christmas but that's all!
