the only one I can think of right now is "THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW. It only had 1, in the first season. (I know some people say 2, but I never considered the 2nd one a Christmas episode)

I'm glad there is such an interest in the subject of christmas episodes.......I've always wanted to do a book with a alphabetical listing of every TV series with episode titles, original airdates, episode descriptions, etc........I'm planning it in my retirement if someone doesn't beat me to it.....there is a book called "Christmas On Television" or something to that effect, it is a nice hardcover but is extremely erratic in its format, it reads as a book instead of a resource listing.

In its entire 8-season run, Dukes of Hazzard only had one Christmas episode. It was entitled "The Great Santa Claus Clause", and aired during the third season (12/19/1980).

^ Yes, that Dukes episode was during the Cletus era. I wish they'd made another Christmas episode later on so Daisy and Enos could kiss under the mistletoe.

I don't think "GUNSMOKE" ever had one and "BONANZA" only had one.

And, for the person that said "PETTICOAT JUNCTION" had two; it only had one. The 2nd one was basically a remake of it. By then though, some of the cast had changed, Lori Saunders had replaced Pat Woodall, Meridith McRae had replaced Jeannete Riley, I think Mike Minor had joined the cast, and Bea Benederit wasn't in the series anymore by then-in fact, she had died a couple months before.

yes, but 2 of the "HONEYMOONERS" sketches on "THE JACKIE GLEASON SHOW" (those are what's called "the lost episodes") were Christmas related (and one was a remake of a sketch on "THE CALVICADE OF STARS")

Gunsmoke did have at least one Christmas episode. Jeannette Nolan played a woman who ran an orphanage and denied the orphans in her care Christmas celebrations. Here is the tv.com description:

http://www.tv.com/gunsmoke/p.s.-murry-christmas/episode/41465/summary.html?tag=ep_guide;ep_title;15

Oddly enough, if tv.com is right, this ep aired 12/27/71, or 2 days AFTER Christmas. This ep included future better-known actors like Erin Moran and Willie Aames among the child actors playing the orphans.

I see that Jodie Foster also guest-starred in it. Interesting!

The premise was the same (one aired in 1963, the other in 1966), but there were different guest stars (even though Charles Lane is in both of them), for instance: Tom Lester appeared on this episode as his Green Acres character Eb Dawson. Mike Minor had joined the cast by this point as Steve Elliot, Meredith MacRae was playing Billie Jo at this point along with Lori Saunders playing Bobbie Jo. Bea Benederet was very much alive in this episode, she would pass away two years later in 1968.

In my opinion, both episodes were good. I always enjoy Charles Lane's appearances on Petticoat Junction. The cast said that Charles is the exact opposite from his Homer Bedloe character.

^ I loved Charles Lane. Shortly before he passed, I wrote him a letter and he responded. :D
