In my opinion, Max was more of a catch. She was prettier and nicer in my opinion. But it seemed like all the guys went for Laura.

Ugh, Laura got on my last nerve. I don't know what her appeal was either. But she thought she was "all that", even though she wasn't, and I guess those popular guys went for girls with that attitude. Max was more humble, and she was best off with Waldo. And hey, let's not forget Myra! She was the prettiest of them all!

Seriously!! I wondered why guys weren't pounding down Myra's door - she was a better catch than Laura!!

Myra was really pretty (RIP, Michelle Thomas :( ), but she was also a bit geeky. That's why she could love Steve like nobody else did, and that's also why someone like Eddy never would care about her. She sure was the right one for Steve though. Dang those writers in the last season! :mad:

Laura (Kelly Shagynee Williams) did look good in short hair, I agree with that! And not all girls can pull that off. The late Michelle Thomas, a k a Myra, was usually prettier than her, but when she had short hair on an episode of "The Cosby show", it didn't suit her at all.

And really, Laura could look good, even if she never was as pretty as Myra. But she had a bad attitude, and that turns a lot of us off.

We all have our different opinions. :) I prefer Steve with Laura, cause he really loved her. That's my opinion. I always like when someone gets the person they really love. That opposite attract.

Well, I don't really believe in that "opposite attracts" saying. Steve belonged with someone, who could love for who he was, and not with someone, who was too shallow to admit her feelings for him until he started changing himself for her. Steve and Laura should have just been friends.

Steve/Laura shippers will say "But she was the love of his life". And of course, you can't help it, if you fall in love with the wrong person. But when someone turns you down, you have to take "no" for an answer and move on. For you can't spend your life trying to please someone, who just doesn't appreciate you, especially not when there's someone out there, who actually loves you.

It's simply not realistic, that Steve would spend his life lusting for Laura, who just kept rejecting him, especially not after Myra came into the picture. No matter how much he loved Laura, he should just have given up some time, realized that she just wasn't worth it. And having him end up with Laura in the end wasn't just phony and forced, but even stupid and wrong. People keep calling Steve's inventions "unrealistic". But compared to his undying love for Laura, they were mundane every day occurances.

When I watched the show in first run, I hated that short do on Laura and was so thankful when she got her weave put in. LOL. Now, I think the short do is kinda sexy on her especially when she is wearing her dresses but I am still glad that she put that weave in. :lol:

Yes. But towards the end of this show, a lot of things were unrealistic. And to me, time-traveling and teleportation is more unrealistic than oposite attract. You'll never change your thought about Steve and Laura, but

During season four what happened with Max's voice? She sounded like an airhead for half of the season then her voice was back to normal. She had that bimbo secretary, gum smacking voice. I wonder if she was told to do that? :confused:

Max was never humble. And she started making fun of Laura when she admitted she started to kind of like Steve.

I'm not talking about the awful last season. But before that, Max was nicer than Laura.

To me, if anything, Maxine was only worse compared to Laura due to her treatment of Steve especially since Laura is the one who eventually did the falling for him.

Really, I think I never saw the episodes where Maxine mistreated Steve.
What exactly did she do?

And as for Laura falling for Steve, that was never believable to me.

^^^ I can't name the exact episodes, but Maxine never hesitated to let it be known how much her opinion of Steve had not changed even after Laura finally started getting interested in him, but maybe it was due to the fact that she was still blown away at Laura getting feelings for him at all, but that right there is just it. I don't remember her ever showing any respect for Laura's decision to finally accept Steve in a more romantic way.

Well, it is not strange at all when you consider Maxine's history with previous boyfriends.
She had been burned by several selfish "pretty boys" and wanted something different.
And I always liked Maxine and Waldo as a couple.
For as weird and ugly as he might be to you, they were good for each other.
