Hard to believe, I couldn't find a thread for this (though there probably is one floating around here somewhere) - though I did find one for favorite albums. I have the utmost respect for her as a singer, songwriter, producer, and as a human being. In 2001 it looked like her career was over and her health was in jeopardy. She "made it through the rain" and enjoyed a huge comeback in 2005. She shares my initials (M.C.) and since her debut in 1990 (when I was still in elementary school!!), I've grown up with her!!

I've liked a few of Mariah's covers but I think she's really the best with her own songs. I think her best cover was of Phil Collins' Against All Odds. I have to admit that I like Mariah's version of I Still Believe, but I prefer the original by Brenda K. Starr.

It's fun discussing Mariah's music because she has such a rich catalog. Plus she's still under 40 - to have accomplished that much since the age of 20 is astounding!!

Always Be My Baby is probably my #1 favorite. i really love that song.

i like We Belong Together, Hero, and All I Want For Christmas Is You a lot too. and Touch My Body...lol. okay, that song is sort of gimmicky but its catchy and funny and i enjoy it :)
