Unlike New Coke, Crystal Pepsi was not a dumb creation. New Coke was a dumb idea because it was intended to replace the original and although it was very heavily promoted, The public wasn't as stupid as the Coca-Cola Co. thought and the original formula was brought back under a barrage of protests. New Coke was one of the most idiotic campaigns ever. Crystal Pepsi was never intended to replace the original. It was a great product but wasn't promoted properly and that was the biggest reason for it's demise. I still miss Crystal Pepsi but at least I have an unopened 6 pack of bottles to gaze at lovingly when I'm feeling nostalgic. I'd love to drink them but considering their age and the fact that unopened bottles are selling for $50-$100 each on eBay, I think I'll just let them be.
