This show was yet another sad, pitiful example of how whenever men get involved with women, they always wind up her whipping pole. Oddly, Daphne said when they first started dating, she would never treat Niles the way Maris and Mel have treated him...but she was actually worse. Almost as soon as they got serious, she would practically chop his nads off over every little thing he said and did. She even got physical with him in her sleep and when he tried to confront her about it, she got all pissy with him, so he got all sheepish and let her have her way. Why must this always be the case on TV shows? Why must a man always be whipped by some over aggressive amazon female? Whatever happened to equal rights? I don't necessarily want to see a man treating a woman like that, but same thing the other way around. I almost wished Niles and Daphne never got together and he would keep worshipping her from afar.

Judging by all of your posts, brownie, it would appear to me that you obviously have alot of issues with women. Especially assertive women. Yes, Daphne was pushy, but she was a ballsy women who had been mistreated by men all her life. Niles could be a bit of a jerk, but she knew how to control him. And in case you haven't heard, women are supposed to be the ones in control in a relationship, real or fiction. I loved seeing Daphne reem Niles whenever he made a stupid decision. She wasn't nearly as mean as Marris or Mel, but she was a strong woman who didn't let any man mess with her, or belittle her. Get a grip already, pal! Deal with the fact that women have been put down and belittled for a really long time and we are living in an era of strong women, so if you can't handle women who are strong and assertive, then I suggest you get therapy, pal!
I'm not taking any sides here (I am HAPPILY MARRIED), but have you ever notice when guys say it's over, it almost means, "We have some things we need to work on." But when a girls says it's over, it's over.

I just thought that she totally had Niles casterated and he suddenly needed her permission to do anything. Yet she was free to do whatever she wanted. In other words, she was totally bossy, even worse than Maris.

I haven't seen many of the eps. after Niles and Daphne got together (my local station is just getting to those), but isn't it possible that that's what Niles was used to? I mean, I think it's pretty clear Maris was in charge when she and Niles were married, and Mel was even worse, esp. after Niles decided to leave her. Some people just really don't have all that much backbone. Not to say Niles wasn't a good guy, or that he deserved to be mistreated, but he just doesn't seem very assertive.
I'll prob. have more to say when I get to see the episodes in question, but I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents now, hehe.
