Sweetin Limited To Supervised Visits With Eight-Month-Old Daughter

Actress Jodie Sweetin has been limited to supervised visits with her eight-month-old daughter after she was accused of abusing drugs and alcohol at an emergency custody hearing called by her estranged husband.

Sweetin, 26, filed for legal separation from Cody Herpin, 31, on 19 November in Orange County, California - seven months after she gave birth to the couple's first child.

The pair was scheduled to return to court on 9 February for a custody hearing after Sweetin reportedly filed for joint custody of little Zoie.

Herpin responded seeking sole custody on 4 December, but called for the emergency hearing to get access the child - accusing the former Full House actress of driving intoxicated with their baby in the car.

A doctor took to the stand claiming the actress, an admitted crystal meth addict and alcoholic, had recently fallen off the wagon.

Sweetin, who lives with her parents, is now under emergency investigation by an Orange County, California family court for substance abuse, and will not be allowed to be with the child unless one of her parents is present.

Herpin's lawyer tells People.com, "It's primarily alcohol (abuse) but there's also concern regarding methamphetamines," adding his client only had "sporadic" contact with their daughter since the split.

A judge ordered both parties, who married in July 2007, to submit to drug tests before the next hearing.

A lawyer and spokesperson for Sweetin were not available for comment as WENN went to press.

Basically means that a parent cannot see their child unless they are with somebody whom the judge says has to be there; can't be with their child alone.

In this case, Sweetin can't see her daughter unless she is with one of her parents.

I would like to say that Jodie Sweetin is a good mother and I know that she would not drive like everyone is saying she did I think the husband is just doing all this because they are nolonger Living Together.

Well, I would like to think so too but let me say one thing. Just because we know, and like, someone from television doesn't mean that we know what goes on in their personal lives. Is Jodie acting reckless and going off the wagon? Well, the courts are deciding that she is and they have to act appropriately.

I wonder if Jodie got to see her Daughter for Christmas.
