View Full Version : I Just Lost a Friend to Cancer
tv star collector 12-17-2008, 08:36 PM A friend and former co-worker of mine who I met back in 1989 died from breast cancer last week. I hadn't had an opportunity to see or speak to her
much in the last few years, but I miss her a lot. I just can't believe she
is gone. She was only 40 years old. She was a very special friend, and I
will never ever forget Missy. But at least I know her time of suffering is ended.
For that I am thankful, and I am thankful that she was once a part of my life.
God bless her. I know she is in a better place now. I just wish that I had had
a chance to sit down and talk with her one last time. When I first met her, we were both going through some difficult times; and I'm glad we were there
for each other. "A friend in need is a friend indeed." I still have her picture;
she signed it on the back, "To Karl, a true friend." We both liked the same
music, and she enjoyed reading my stories. She was one special lady, and
she will always have a place in my heart. I'm going to have to stop now; I
can't see the screen through my tears.
Doodyville10019 12-17-2008, 08:52 PM I'm really sorry to hear that. I truly am. I felt exactly the same way when we lost my husband's mom a year ago. But I learned one thing from that experience - and that is, as long as you think about her and always remember her in your heart, Missy will always be alive. She will always watch over you like a guardian angel and be there in your dreams. And that's the truth.

Wreckless 12-18-2008, 01:23 AM Sir, I remember talking with you when you were having problems with your work a few months ago, remember me?
Anyways, I'm sorry to hear about your dear friend. May she no longer suffer and have a place in your heart & in God's home, she is safe now and you can talk to her whenever you want! I hope you are able to recover from this tragic event my friend. It's the holidays and I hate it when good people lose their own good friends or family due to such a drastic disease. RIP to her, breast cancer is a horrible thing (that should be fixed & cured). Happy Holidays sir.
Family Ties Forever! 12-18-2008, 01:31 AM I'm really sorry to hear that. Cancer is such a terrible thing. I wish there was a cure for all types of cancers.
It would break my heart if I were to lose my bestfriend (who has breast cancer).

tv star collector 12-18-2008, 08:58 AM Thank you. Thank you, one and all, for your thoughts of me and of Missy.
Yes, I will miss her dearly. Still, I am glad that I met her and would not trade
one precious moment we had together for anything in this world. I never
dreamed that she would go first (she was twenty-one years younger than I
am). But we just never know how fragile life is.

What a heartbreaking post. This is so sad. But, you bring up a very good point. Life is fragile. Not another day is promised. That's a philosophy I try to live by. I thank God for each new day.
