A man banged up in Brandy's fatal 2006 car crash is now suing the singer for allegedly causing the wreck -- and suing the lady who died for allegedly contributing to the chain reaction collision.

Donald Lite is going after Brandy and Awatef Aboudihaj -- the married mother of two killed in the accident -- claiming their disregard for road rules caused the multi-car pileup that left him with extreme physical damage.

In the suit, filed last week in L.A. County Superior Court, Lite says their failure to keep a safe distance, mixed with their inability to travel at a safe speed, caused Brandy to rear-end Awatef, which sent Awatef's car smashing into his.

Lite says he's suffered "serious and permanent injuries" that racked up a lot of hospital bills -- and is suing for an undetermined amount.

Sickening.

Funny how the statute of limitations is coming up on the case now, this guy finally decides he needs to sue. I hope it falls flat on it's face.

I think Brandy was genuine and has paid her dues enough in this case.

I agree...this guy waited almost 3 years to come forward? I hope the judge throws this out!!

As far as I know (from when I had whiplash), the statute for these cases is 3 years - so with this coming just under the wire it looks highly suspicious. Also, the "undetermined amount" part.

I hope not only does the judge throw it out, but orders this creep to pay the court costs too. Can you believe sueing a dead person???

Brandy

Brandy was an R&B and pop sensation in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She had hit songs, Grammys, the TV series Moesha (1996), a judging stint on the first season of America's Got Talent (2006), and even a doll in her likeness. But in 2007, all that success came crashing down, literally. TMZ reports that on Dec. 30, 2006, Brandy was going 65 mph in her 2007 Land Rover and didn't notice cars ahead of her had slowed down. She struck a 2005 Toyota, which then hit a 1989 Toyota, sending the 2005 Toyota sideways into a highway divider. As the 2005 Toyota finally stopped moving, a 1988 Acura struck it. (Phew, got all that?) The driver of the 2005 Toyota, Awatef Aboudiha, a married mom, was killed in the accident. Brandy later settled with Aboudiha's family, but her career never recovered after the tragedy. Her 2008 album, Human, was a commercial disaster; she lost her judging gig on America's Got Talent; and her brother, Ray J, made the family notorious with his sex tape with Kim Kardashian.
