View Full Version : Actor Peter Falk Has Alzheimers Disease
Wreckless 12-16-2008, 08:00 PM LOS ANGELES (AP) - A court document filed by Peter Falk's daughter says the Emmy-winning actor is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Catherine Falk is seeking a court's approval for a conservatorship of her 81-year-old father, who she claims no longer recognizes people. A hearing has been scheduled for late January.
Falk is familiar to most audiences as the star of the television series ``Columbo,'' for which he won four Emmys. He was also nominated twice for Academy Awards for movie roles in 1959 and 1960.
The petition filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court states Falk lives in Beverly Hills with his wife and recently had hip surgery and requires constant care.
A phone message left for Falk's manager was not immediately returned Tuesday.
tv star collector 12-16-2008, 08:04 PM That is so sad to hear. I loved Peter Falk as Lt. Columbo and also in the
films "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" and "The Cheap Detective." One
of my favorite actors of all time.
TripperFan 12-16-2008, 08:58 PM ???? use of the "drool" smiley for this topic. Is that supposed to be funny?

Uh NO. I didn't know that was a drool smiley. When I looked at it, I thought it was just an overall sad smiley, so that's why I posted it with the topic, cause it's a sad situation.
I can't believe you would think I thought this was something funny. Instead of looking and reading about the topic, you judged me over a smiley face, or a sad, drool smiley. W/e

I didn't need to read about the topic as I had already posted this news.
What else are we supposed to think. I don't know you all that well, other than that you tend to go off topic unappropriately in some threads at times.
SBTB Geek 12-16-2008, 11:01 PM I thought the drool smiley was really inappropiate as well.
Wreckless 12-16-2008, 11:25 PM Supposed to think? What's their to think about a smiley? It's a misunderstanding and both of you, SBTB Geek & Tripper Fan are getting on me after a smiley. I was shocked to hear about the news and thought I would post it. I didn't post it for you to criticize me over a f*cking smiley attached to the thread. I like the actor and his work, so don't tell me it's inappropriate.
Zoneboy 12-16-2008, 11:38 PM Why not just change the smiley?
TripperFan 12-16-2008, 11:41 PM ^ Thanks Charles
Yes - we very much like the actor too - hence finding the smiley insulting, and once it was brought to his attention, instead of just changing it, he has to argue.
I never said it was intentional.
Wreckless 12-17-2008, 12:02 AM Charles, good idea, but I don't know how to change smilies that are attached to the title of a thread. I know how to edit the title to something different and the first post, but not the smiley. Hmm...

Ok sorry for getting mad over it & making it look like I wasn't being serious about the subject matter. I was serious, I just used a wrong smiley, but I do apologize for all of this. My bad.

Click edit then go advanced, You'll be able to change it from there.
Wreckless 12-17-2008, 12:18 AM Thanks for the help man. I'll change it right now.
Wreckless 12-17-2008, 12:19 AM Changed. How's that?

Apology or not, you've been warned about your language and your attitude. Clean up your act.

I know I need to, but that has nothing to do with went on in this thread/topic. I posted unfortunate news about an actor I know and people thought I was trying to be funny with the situation, when I wasn't, and now it's cleared up.

Don't swear at your fellow members like that. It's not how things are run here. For the most part, we're a friendly group, especially on Chit Chat. The occasional argument may happen on the Politic's board, but swearing like that at another member is disrespectful.
Also, when you do swear, just type out the swear and let the system filter it out. I'm tired of telling you this.
comedyfreak 12-17-2008, 09:56 AM This is sad news to hear, I really hate what the disease does to people. I've seen it first hand from my Mom.
