GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado man has pleaded guilty in connection with the death of his girlfriend's half-sister during an apparent imitation of the "Mortal Kombat'' video game.

The Weld County prosecutor's office says 18-year-old Lamar Roberts pleaded guilty Monday to knowingly causing a death through child abuse.

Prosecutors say Roberts and 17-year-old Heather Trujillo were baby-sitting Zoe Garcia a year ago. They say they kicked, hit and slammed the girl to the floor.

Trujillo pleaded guilty in May to negligently causing a death through child abuse. She must complete six years in Colorado's youth offender system.

Sentencing for Roberts is set for January.

No wonder parents wanted their kids to not get ahold of these violent games!

Yeah. I can only imagine what parents all around the US think about the Grand Theft Audio video game series lol. Sad death though, shame it had to be linked with this and had to happen like that.

Yeah, because video games are really to blame. :rolleyes: The blame lies in the KIDS THEMSELVES. I bet money that they both ALREADY had histories of violence well before this happened.

I have been playing video games for 21 years - since I was a freaking toddler, for crying out loud. Never once in the 21 years I've been playing video games have I wanted to take it out on someone else because I was a fan of a violent video game.

I have played GTA and IMO, it's not particularly bloody/gory. Now, first-person shooter games...

Although I play all these games sometime or another, GTA IS bloody lol. There's blood everytime you shoot somebody, and you're shooting cops in some cases. What you talkin 'bout; the earlier games in the series when their was less blood or gore?
