Did you all make it through the big ice storm OK? We lost power for about 24 hours, but we were fortunate enough to not have any property damage. It was a scary storm.

I'm a little south of you in NYC, we had was LOTS and LOTS of rain - some flooding and power outages in suburban areas.

Southern Maine's ice storm wasn't too severe and we maintained our power. I went on the road yesterday and everything was clear. Some of the secondary roads have terrible potholes and frost heaves, though. The trees were glazed with ice and looked very pretty in the sunlight.

I remember the power outage in the Dayton area three months ago from the windstorm resulting from Hurricane Ike that kept me without power for two days. When I learned about this outage in New England I realized how lucky I was since it was summer and didn't have to take cold weather into account.

we got lucky in that storm; our power was only out for about eight hours, but everyone else I work with was without power for anywhere from 5 to 11 days!

Yeah, up here in northeast Ohio we had a bad windstorm, too. The power went out for awhile, but not as long as some other peoples'. That was September 14, if I'm not mistaken.

We lost power early Friday morning and we got our Power back at 5pm at night, we had a lot of branches down, a few fell in our neighbors drive way, and one on our Pool Fench. I took pictures I will post them up later.
