Most 2nd and 3rd season episodes are 25:20, but some are less than 25 minutes.

Most 4th season episodes are 24:40, but some are right around 24 minutes even.

Most 5th season episodes are 24:15, but some are less than 24 minutes. One episode is a full minute short at 23:15.

I realize that some episodes could simply be shorter than normal, but I know for a fact there are cuts in some of these shorter episodes. I suspect that the majority of these other shorter episodes in question are edited as well.

Meet My Masters Mother has a scene cut where Jeannie bangs on a drum while trying to wake Tony's mom. Bootsie Nightingale and The Mod Party are incomplete episodes also.

Recently I was watching Jeannie Or The Tiger. This is one of the shorter DVD episodes in question. I noticed that when Jeannie's sister sends Roger away the second time, it doesn't show where she sent him. The first time she sends him away, he's in the arctic and it's snowing. The third time he's in the desert, and the fourth time he's somewhere up in a palm tree. Why don't we see where Roger was sent the second time? That doesn't look right to me, I think that part was cut. In the scene when he returns, it shows his shirt is all dirty.

These little cuts in the episodes may not seem like much, it usually amounts to about 30 seconds of edited material. Sometimes the edit is only 10 or 15 seconds. But it's annoying to say the least, it seems unnecessary and is a big negative in an otherwise nice collection of DVD's.

You may be right because we dont see where Jeannie's sister sent Roger the second time. If it was cut why cant people just put these shows on DVD in full lenght the way they were originally aired.

Thats why we buy TV shows on DVD in the first place, and the fact that TV wont show the good shows anymore.

The cuts in the Jeannie episodes are generally slight and subtle. Unless you're an expert on the episodes or know the episodes very well, most people probably wouldn't notice anything is missing. This is why it's worth calling to attention. Some of the edits amount to only 10 or 15 seconds deleted from the episode. It's very strange and makes me wonder just what was happening at Sony when these Jeannie DVD's were being created. I also have the first four seasons of Sony's Bewitched, other than a couple episodes from the third season all those shows seem intact and uncut. The Flying Nun episodes also seem to be uncut on the DVD.
