A Bond Like No Other
This dramedy stars Daniel Clark as Brad Miller, a 21-year-old rebellious drug addict in recovery at Harrison Hills Rehabilitization Center. After causing a car accident (of which he was drunk and high on drugs at the time of the crash) and getting charged with possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, Brad was given a choice: jail time or time spent in rehab center with a year probation afterwards. Since his well-known financial backer father, Steve Miller (Tim Allen) is a prominent investor for Harrison Hills Rehab Center, Steve pulled some strings and got Brad admitted immediately to stiffle any bad press. Brad's appointed rehab therapist, Dr. Michael Sherwood (Peter Krause) sees great potential for recovery in Brad beyond his stubborn and angst-ridden exterior. Dr. Sherwood's wife, Amanda Sherwood (Miranda Otto) also works at Harrison Hills as the Head Nurse who oversees the entire nursing staff. Along with having to have therapy sessions with Michael, Brad must keep in close contact with his sponsor, Tim Chaisen (Chris Diamantopoulos) who is a recovering former drug addict who has been in Brad's position 8 years ago. Brad ends up striking up an unlikely friendship with Dr. Sherwood's newest intern therapist, Kaitlin Parker (Jessica Rose), whom finds herself more and more intrigued by Brad's story and tends to see he's not as "bad" and "rebellious" as everyone makes him out to be. Brad's relationships with his parents, Steve and Sharon (Tim Allen, Margaret Colin), are something left to be desired. Steve has zero compassion for his son's mistakes and misjudgments and is at his wits end with Brad's antics. In the past, Sharon always stood up for Brad to Steve, but has been let-down one too many times by Brad's failed-attempts to quit his drug use, his alcohol abuse, his lies, and manipulations. However, the latest buzz in Brad's life has been his past love affair with married Amanda (his own therapist's wife), which soon ended when Amanda's guilt imploded. Yet recently, Amanda learns she is newly pregnant---yet who is the father: Michael or Brad?
